Claims (1)

  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 媒体上の特徴抽出対象を光電変換し量子化され
    た画像データを得、該画像データより１文字づつ
    の文字パタンを切り出し、予め用意された複数の
    字体の文字の辞書マスクを含んだ辞書を用いて入
    力文字パタンの照合を行ない、文字を認識する文
    字認識装置において、 複数の前記文字パタンから単語に該当する文字
    列を検出する単語切り出し手段と、 単語の先頭から任意の文字数の文字に対しては
    複数の字体の文字の辞書マスクを含んだ辞書を選
    択し用いて認識を行ない、前記選択した辞書を用
    いて認識した結果最も類似度の大きい辞書マスク
    の字体を当該単語の字体と判定して前記任意の文
    字数以降の文字に対しては当該判定した字体の辞
    書マスクを選択し用いて認識を行なう辞書選択手
    段とを具備することを特徴とする文字認識装置。
