INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION FIELD The present invention relates to a backing cloth coated with hot melt adhesive used for simple bookbinding, and particularly to a backing cloth that is highly effective when using a slightly thick paper cloth. Prior art A large number of sheets are stacked, a front cover and a back cover are superimposed on both the upper and lower sides, and a back cover cloth is pasted to one side of this stack of sheets, and the back cover cloth is laminated. A simple bookbinding technique is well known in which the remaining edges of a book are folded and attached to the front and back covers to form a simple book. The backing cloth used in this case is generally made of paper or the like and one side of which is coated with a hot melt adhesive. In the case of such simple bookbinding, in order to obtain the folding resistance and tear strength after binding, it is necessary to increase the thickness by laminating the paper that is the base material for the backing cloth, or to increase the thickness of the paper that is the base material for the backing cloth, or to use strong cardboard. Since it is required to use the cloth as a backing cloth, the flexibility of the backing cloth is lost. This means that
When actually used, the following problems occur. That is, when such a backing cloth is attached to one side of a sheet laminate, the stiffness of the paper, which is the base material b, becomes a problem, and the adhesive layer c The adhesive strength between the backing cloth a and the text paper d, which are held together through the binding material, becomes weak, the spine of the backing cloth a peels off from the text paper d, the spine of the book becomes rounded, and the appearance after binding also deteriorates. Deteriorate. In addition, since the base material b of the spine cloth a is stiff, the spine cloth a tends to return to its original flat sheet state, and for this reason, one edge of the spine cloth a attached to the front cover e The part, that is, the side seal f, becomes easy to peel off, and the bound product opens as shown in Fig. 2 when it is simply left standing.
Another drawback is that it is large. Furthermore, even if the adhesive strength of the adhesive layer c is strengthened and the back of the backing cloth a is bonded to the text paper d, the bending resistance of the edge of the backing cloth a is low due to the strong stiffness of the base material b. Because it is strong, the corners g of the spine of the bound product (the folded portions of the spine pasting cloth 1) g are rounded, as shown in FIG. 3, and the finish of the corners is poor. In addition, various types of embossing are generally applied to the backing cloth for bookbinding to give it a variety of appearances, but depending on the material used, it has the disadvantage that it does not fit the text paper as described above. It was noticeable. Purpose of the Invention Therefore, an object of the present invention is to be able to attach a spine that fits the body paper and to improve the finishing performance when using a spine cloth for simple bookbinding, regardless of the thickness or stiffness of the spine cloth. and excellent appearance,
To provide a back-pasting cloth having tear strength and sufficient waist strength except for the part bent in either the vertical or horizontal direction of the back part. Another object of the present invention is to provide a spine adhesive that has the above-mentioned characteristics and that can be easily adhered to text paper and front and back covers by applying the minimum necessary pressure to the spine and using the adhesive strength of the adhesive itself. It is about providing a cross. Structure of the Invention The spine-pasting cloth for simple bookbinding according to the present invention has a hot-melt adhesive applied to one side of the base material, and the back side of the spine-pasting cloth used for simple bookbinding is coated with a hot-melt adhesive in a direction corresponding to the direction along the spine of the book. It is characterized by forming a plurality of vertical striped embossed patterns,
The above-mentioned characteristics can be provided simply by applying such embossing. Functions, Effects, and Modes of the Invention As mentioned above, the backing cloth according to the present invention has the following features:
Back side of backing cloth (non-adhesive side of base material)
By forming multiple vertical striped embossed patterns in a direction corresponding to the spine of the book (usually the longitudinal direction of the spine cloth), flexibility in the horizontal direction (direction transverse to the above direction) is improved. Even if a thick base material with strong tear strength and folding strength is used, the spine can be attached to the main text paper with a sufficient fit, improving the finishing performance and It improves the appearance. In order to make this effect noticeable, it is preferable that the embossing should form a very thin and dense pattern parallel to the back, but it is necessary to form at least one embossed line on the folded part of the back pasting cloth. be.
For this purpose, although it depends on the thickness of the binding,
It is necessary to form at least three or more lines in a width corresponding to the thickness of the text paper. Further, the length of one embossed line is preferably as short as 1 mm to about 1/2 of the total length of the back, more preferably about 1/5 to 1/3 of the total length of the back. This is to ensure that even if the spine pasting cloth is not parallel to the longitudinal direction of the back but is attached to the main text paper in a slightly twisted manner during adhesion, it can be sufficiently fitted to the back of the main text paper. Generally considered embossed shapes include a length of 15 cm or less and a depth of 15 cm or less.
It is 0.01 mm or more and 1.0 mm or less, and the density is 5 lines/cm or more.
Table 1 below shows the preferred length of the embossed line in consideration of the size of the book.

[Table] Note that if the embossing depth is too shallow, the above-mentioned effect will not be sufficient, and if the embossing depth is too deep, the base material will easily break, which is not preferable. Various shapes can be considered as the embossed pattern, and some examples of the embossed pattern are shown in FIGS. 4A to 4C. Further, by forming the embossing as described above, a great effect is brought about when storing and transporting the backing cloth coated with hotmel adhesive. That is, in order to store the backing cloth, it is usual to form it into rolls or strips in advance and stack them for storage, and the back side of the backing cloth comes into direct contact with the adhesive. Therefore, when the environmental temperature becomes high during storage or transportation, the surface of the adhesive becomes semi-molten, and in the case of conventional backing cloths, so-called blocking development occurs in which the backing cloth sticks to the back surface of the backing cloth. For this reason, even if the backing cloth that has been blocked is removed and used, the paper layer remains thinly removed from the surface of the adhesive, resulting in a decrease in the strength of the adhesive.
However, in the case of the backing cloth of the present invention, the back side is embossed and has an uneven shape, so there is a gap between the adhesive side and the back side of the backing cloth, which alleviates blocking development. Furthermore, even if blocking development were to occur, the only paper layer remaining on the adhesive surface would be the convex part on the back of the backing cloth, and since this is extremely thin and short, the adhesive strength of the remaining paper layer would be affected. This has the effect of keeping the decline to a minimum. The base material for the backing cloth according to the present invention is as follows:
In addition to paper, nonwoven fabric, aluminum foil, etc., various materials such as resin films such as polyester and polycarbonate, and resin-impregnated coated paper can be used. In addition, hotmel adhesives to be applied are those whose adhesive properties are activated by heating, such as polyethylene copolymer systems such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, polyamide adhesives, polyester adhesives, and polyamide adhesives. Butyral and the like are generally preferably used. Another resin layer may be interposed between these base materials and the hot melt adhesive layer. In addition, a material with a relatively low melt viscosity is used as the hot melt adhesive, and a material with a higher melt viscosity than the hot melt adhesive is used as the resin layer, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, cellophane, polyester, polyamide, polyvinyl chloride, ethylene-acetic acid. Vinyl copolymers, vinylidene chloride copolymers, etc.
In particular, using a non-polar resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene, the above-mentioned hot melt adhesive with a low melt viscosity is applied to a width corresponding to the thickness of the sheet material laminate on the resin layer coated on the cut material, Utilizing the difference in adhesive strength between the resin layer-hot melt adhesive layer and the hot melt adhesive layer-text paper, the base paper of the backing cloth can be easily peeled off from the bound material after simple bookbinding. In this way, after the base paper is peeled off, only the hot melt adhesive will remain on the back side of the main paper, and since the melt viscosity of this adhesive is relatively low, it will not penetrate into the inside of the main paper. Therefore, there is an advantage that the bound book can be easily separated by hand into the required number of sheets. As the resin layer, the above resins can be used alone or in a mixture of two or more, but in some cases, silica, titanium,
By adding alumina, carbon calcium, silicon, fluorine compound fine powder, etc., the peelability of the base material from the product can be made more preferable. Example: On one side of acrylic resin-impregnated paper with a basis weight of 100 g/cm 2 and a thickness of 0.15 mm, the length was about 10 mm, the width was about 0.1 mm, the depth was about 0.05 to 0.1 mm, and the density was about 20 lines/cm. Embossed. For comparison, paper having the same structure except that it was not embossed was prepared. A comparison of the physical property data of each of these papers is shown in Table 3 below.

[Table] As is clear from the above data, embossing according to the present invention greatly increases the lateral flexibility. Next, as shown in FIG. 5, a sheet material laminate (body paper 4 + front cover 5
+ Ethylene- to the width equivalent to the thickness of the back cover 8)
When the backing cloth 1 coated with the vinyl acetate copolymer hot melt adhesive 3 was attached to one end of the sheet laminate for bookbinding, the backing was able to fully fit the text paper, and the finishing performance was improved. Both the book and the finished appearance were excellent, and the spine and corners of the book were not rounded, giving each item an excellent finish. In addition, there was no peeling of the side seal 6, and there was no opening of the bound product at all during static conditions.
