When measuring the distance, as shown in FIG. 5, the probe tip is inserted so as to be in contact with the fuel element, the probe tip is deformed, and the amount of displacement is output. If the relationship between the amount of displacement (reference interval) and the output (voltage) is measured in advance and a calibration curve is created, the amount of displacement can be determined from the amount of output measured by the above method.

A method for measuring the spacing between fuel elements in used fuel assemblies in a nuclear reactor, which are bundled in a square lattice shape, and consists of an optical fiber scope, a lens, an industrial television camera, a monitor television, etc. Using a fiber optic scope measuring device, insert the tip of the fiber optic scope between the target fuel elements, measure the distance between the fuel elements from the image projected on the TV screen, and calculate the distance from the value on the calibration curve created in advance. This method is designed to determine the spacing between fuel elements.

That is, it has been found that it is difficult to determine the in-focus position from the degree of blur of the image on the monitor television (CRT) screen, and from this to determine the distance from the tip of the fiberscope to the fuel rod. In other words, the depth of focus is deeper than expected, so the distance cannot be determined.

However, when observing the fuel element with a fiberscope, both fuel element outlines can be clearly seen on the monitor TV, as shown in FIG. 131. Therefore, the intermediate position of the fuel element can be accurately determined using a side-viewing fiberscope. A direct-view fiberscope and a side-view fiberscope are used as the second
If used in combination as shown in the figure and Figure 3,
You can accurately determine the distance between the target fuel element using the side-viewing fiberscope and the tip of the direct-viewing fiberscope. If the distance from the tip of the direct-view fiberscope to the target fuel element can be determined, the fuel element spacing can also be accurately determined from the monitor TV image.

。[Effects of the Invention] According to the present invention, when inspecting the presence or absence of deformation of a fuel assembly after use in a 1M child reactor, it is possible to inspect the fuel assemblies between the fuel elements in the pool of the power plant without disassembling the fuel assembly. By measuring the distance and checking the curvature, fuel life can be estimated. In particular, it is possible to reliably determine in advance a situation where the degree of curvature is large and fuel elements are likely to come into contact with each other (even if the distance is 1 mm or less), improving safety and reliability in management.

Fuel of a fuel assembly after use in a nuclear reactor, which is made by bundling a plurality of fuel elements containing nuclear fuel material in a square lattice shape with a constant interval between them. In the method of measuring the spacing between elements, a fiber optic scope measuring device consisting of a fiber optic scope, a lens, an industrial TV camera, a monitor TV, etc. is used, and the tip of the fiber optic scope is inserted between the target fuel elements. A method for measuring the distance between fuel elements, characterized in that the distance between the fuel elements is measured from an image projected on a television screen, and the distance between the fuel elements is determined from a value on a calibration curve prepared in advance. 2. In the method for measuring the distance between fuel elements using a fiber optic scope according to claim 1, a direct-viewing fiberscope for monitoring the front and a side-viewing fiberscope for viewing the side are combined and integrated, and a side-viewing fiberscope is provided. A method for measuring distances between fuel elements, characterized in that the distance from the tip of a direct-viewing fiberscope to the fuel element is determined using a direct-viewing fiberscope, and the distance between the fuel elements is determined using a direct-viewing fiberscope. 3. The method for measuring the distance between fuel elements using a fiber optic scope according to claim 1, comprising: a direct-viewing fiberscope that monitors the front, a right-viewing fiberscope that monitors the right side, and a left-viewing fiberscope that monitors the left side.
A fuel characterized by combining and integrating seeds, measuring the position and distance of the fiberscope using a direct-viewing fiberscope, and simultaneously measuring the fuel element spacing in front and on both sides using a right-side and left-side bilateral-viewing fiberscope. How to measure the spacing between elements.
