Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase a data transfer speed by providing the optical disk device with a means for controlling R/W data, a means for controlling an interface with a master device, etc., and previously increasing the rotational speed of a medium for reading as compared with that for writing. CONSTITUTION:An interface control part 10 receiving a rapid rotation instruc tion from the master device 200 through the interface 1 applies are rapid mode command to a read/write(R/W) control part 11, a laser power control part 12 and a drive control part 13 through a control signal line 4. The R/W control part 11 gets reading operation and the rapid transfer mode stand-by the laser power control part 12 gets the feed of reading laser power stand-by and the drive control part 13 outputs a rapid rotation command to a driving part control signal line 6 to start the rapid rotation of the driving part 15. At that time, the rotational speed of the medium is increased as compared with that for writing. Consequently, the data transfer speed can be increased.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Field of Industrial Application The present invention relates to an optical disk device used for information processing. Conventional Technology Conventionally, in optical disk devices, the rotational speed of the medium was the same during reading and writing. Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, with the conventional optical disk device described above, it is impossible to increase the rotational speed because a large laser power must be supplied to the optical head during writing, whereas it is impossible to increase the rotation speed during reading. In some cases, it is possible to increase the rotational speed by supplying a much smaller laser power than when writing, but since the rotational speed during reading and writing is the same, it is not possible to increase the rotational speed during reading. The disadvantage is that there is no The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned conventional situation,
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a novel optical disc device that eliminates the above-mentioned drawbacks inherent in the conventional technology and makes it possible to increase the data transfer speed. Means for Solving the Problems In order to achieve the above object, an optical disk device according to the present invention includes means for controlling read/write data using an optical head that reads/writes to a medium, and a means for controlling read/write data using an optical head that reads/writes from/to a medium. means for switching and supplying laser power necessary for reading and writing to the medium; means for changing and controlling the rotational speed of the medium; and means for controlling an interface with a host device;
means for changing the rotational speed of the medium in response to a rotational speed change command before a read/write command from the host device, and has a function of making the rotational speed of the medium during reading faster than during writing. I have it. Embodiment Next, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be specifically explained with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 is a conceptual diagram showing an embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 1, an optical disk device 100 is controlled by an interface control section 10, an R/11 control section 11, a laser control section 12, a drive control section 13, an optical drive section 14, and a drive section 15. .. The interface control unit 10 is connected to the host device 200 via the interface 1, and connected to the R/W control unit 1l via the data line 2, and is connected to the R/W control unit 1l via the interface 1. l
The control signal line 4 connects the R/W control unit 11. It is connected to the laser power control section 12 and the drive control section 13. The R/W control unit l1 is connected to the optical head 14 by a data line 3. The laser power control section 12 is connected to the optical head 14 by a laser power supply signal line 5. The drive control section 13 is connected to the drive section 15 by a drive section control signal line 6. The operation of the optical disc device 100 configured as described above is as follows. The interface control unit 10 receives a high-speed rotation command from the host device 200 via the interface 1, and receives the R/%1 control unit 11. Laser power control section 12
and instructs the drive control unit l3 to perform high-speed mode. As a result, the R/19 control unit 11 puts the read operation and high-speed transfer mode on standby. Further, the laser bow control unit l2 stands by the laser bow supply for reading. Further, the drive control section 13 issues a high-speed rotation instruction to the drive section control signal line 6, so that the drive section 15 starts rotating at high speed. When the operation in response to the high-speed mode instruction is completed, the interface control unit 1
0 reports the completion of the high-speed rotation command to the host device 200 via the interface 1. Next, the interface control unit 10 receives a read command from the host device 200 via the interface 1, and the R/%1 control unit 11. Laser power control section l
2, the interface control section 10 and R/W control section 1l start a read operation at high speed transfer via the data lines 2 and 3 and the interface 1.
Further, the laser power control section 12 supplies laser power for reading to the optical head l4 via the laser power supply signal line 5. Interface control unit 1 receives a write command from the host device 200 after receiving a high speed rotation command from the host device 200
0 does not start the write operation and reports an error to the host device 200. The interface control unit 10 receives a low-speed rotation command from the host device 200 and connects the R/W control unit 11 to the R/W control unit 11 via the control signal line 4.
, instructs the laser bow control section 12 and drive control section 13 to enter the low speed mode. As a result, the R/+1 control unit 11 resets the read operation and standby of the high-speed transfer mode.
The laser power control unit 12 resets the standby state of laser power supply for reading. Further, the drive control unit l3 issues an instruction for low speed rotation to the drive unit control signal 6, so that the drive unit 15 starts rotating at a low speed. When the operation in response to the low speed mode instruction is completed, the interface control unit 10 reports the completion of the low speed rotation command to the host device 200. Effects of the Invention As explained above, by employing the optical disk device of the present invention, it is possible to increase the rotational speed during reading compared to when writing, which has the effect of increasing the data transfer speed. can get.
