Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the identification of the display contents by executing the display as a pattern connected by interpolation, when a specific pattern is outputted continuously, and also, separating and executing visibly an output, when the prescribed character and symbol are inputted to a continuous position. CONSTITUTION:A character and a symbol which are inputted are displayed on a display device such as a CRT, etc. When many fractions and square root symbols, etc., are used in the upper and the lower subscripts, in the subscript of the upper side, the lowest line of an expression for constituting the subscript is displayed by always aligning it with a head position (in the example, the next one on the right side of 1) of the subscript of the upper side. Also, in the subscript of the lower side, the uppermost line of the expression for constitut ing the subscript is displayed by always aligning it with the line of a head position (in the example, on the side of 1) of the subscript of the lower side. In such a way, the display contents can be identified easily.

1pe71 1im ・The matrix moves. The rest is the same as Σ. ■When you press this key, a double-width n is displayed and the cursor moves to the beginning of the lower expression of Σ. The rest is the same as Σ. ■When you press this key, the corresponding parentheses will be displayed as a pair (starting parenthesis and ending parenthesis), the cursor will move inside the pair of parentheses, and the mode will become input within the pair of parentheses. ■Finish the input inside the parentheses and press the r-J key on the rightmost space to end the bare parenthesis input. ■When you press this key, 1ia+ is displayed in half-width characters, the cursor moves to the beginning of the lower part of lim, and the mode becomes lower input mode. ■Enter the information at the bottom and press the r→1 key on the space at the right end of the bottom to exit the 1iI1 input mode. ■When you press this key, a message will be displayed requesting the number of rows and columns of the matrix to be input (up to 3 rows and 3 columns in this example), and the corresponding {matrix} will be displayed to indicate the number of rows and columns. A matrix of size is displayed (Matrix)
Ru. [Matrix] - For example, in the case of a matrix with 3 rows, 3 columns, 1 matrix, and 1 matrix, input the matrix elements from 1 row, 1 column to l rows, 2 columns, 1 row, 3 columns,
This is done by sequentially inputting 2nd row, 1st column, 2nd row, 2nd column, 2nd row, 3rd column, 3rd row, 1st column, 3rd row, 2nd column, and 3rd row, 3rd column. (Press the r-1 key at the right end of each row to input the next row, and press the "-1 key at the right end of the last row to end matrix input.") ■To the right of the parentheses for multiple rows When you press this key, the cursor moves to the line above the parentheses and enters upper subscript input mode. ■Finish inputting the upper subscript and press the r-J key at the right end to finish inputting on the subscript. ■If you press this key on the right side of the multi-line parentheses, the cursor moves to the line below the parentheses and enters the lower subscript input mode. ■Finish inputting the lower subscript and press the r-4J key at the right end to finish inputting the lower subscript. FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram showing how the cursor moves in the formula input mode on a conventional model. When you press the r → 1 key, you move one column from left to right in normal character input, but
In formula input mode, the behavior changes slightly. Basically, it moves l columns from left to right in the same way as when inputting characters, but fractions,
If there is a mathematical symbol such as 1, Σ, etc. that requires input of characters/symbols at the bottom and upper part of the mathematical symbol, from the center of the mathematical symbol to the beginning of the bottom, from the end of the bottom to the beginning of the top,
It moves one by one from the end at the top to the center of the next mathematical symbol <. (See the cursor position in Figure 4 for details)
The ←1 key performs the opposite operation to the j→1 key. The rTJ key moves the cursor to the beginning of the upper expression rather than the lower expression when there is a mathematical symbol with a lower expression and an upper expression, such as fractions S and Σ, and the rLJ key moves the cursor to the beginning of the upper expression rather than the lower expression. The movement is different from normal character input. FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram of a cursor movement method in the formula input mode according to the present invention. When moving the cursor on conventional models, you can only move the cursor one by one, so in the case of mathematical formulas in particular, the cursor can be moved up and down using the r-Jr-J keys, so it is difficult to move the cursor to the desired position. requires a large number of strokes and time. In the present invention, in addition to the conventional means of moving the cursor one by one, there is also a means of moving the cursor in units of mathematical symbols input using soft keys. That is, r4J If) J
By pressing the key, you can now move to the mathematical symbol entered from the softkey, making it easier to move the cursor to the desired position. FIG. 5 is a diagram showing an example of cursor movement by pressing the r4J r}J key. To explain using Figure 5, if you press the r>3 key while the cursor is on y, you will move sequentially over the mathematical symbols entered using the soft keys. In the example of FIG. 5, the movement is from above y to above 1, from above 1 to above J, from above J to above the fractional rule, and from above the fractional rule to Σ. FIG.
FIG. 2 is an explanatory diagram of two cursor movement methods. In the case of the method shown in Figure 5, if you want to move the cursor to the beginning or the end of a formula, you need to enter r4Jf)J multiple times, but with this method, you can move the cursor to the beginning of the formula or the end of the formula with one key operation. Finally, you will be able to move the cursor. To explain using Fig. 6, when the cursor is on y and the ``G'' key is pressed while pressing 1 function 1, the cursor is placed on the last mathematical symbol input using the soft keys, that is, as shown in Fig. 6. In this example, you can move it all at once onto Σ. Also, by pressing the r4J key without pressing function 1, you can move all at once to the first mathematical symbol input using the soft keys, that is, to 1 in the example of FIG. FIG. 7 is an explanatory diagram showing a deletion method in the formula input mode in a conventional model. If you want to delete the whole thing, move the cursor to a, press the ``1 Delete'' key four times to delete one character, and then press the ``R Delete'' key once when there is no data in J. By pressing it, it is necessary to delete J, and in this example, it was necessary to operate the r delete 1 key five times. FIG. 8 is an explanatory diagram of the deletion method in the formula input mode according to the present invention. As shown in the figure, in the present invention, when the cursor is on the mathematical symbol input using the soft keys,
By simply pressing the Delete 1 key once, all formula terms covered by that formula symbol can be deleted at once. In this example, by pressing the key once, it is possible to delete the entire J at once. FIG. 9 is a diagram for explaining the method for outputting the created mathematical formula into the document screen according to the present invention. In the present invention, a formula is created in the formula window and
By pressing the key, the created formula will be output to the cursor position on the document screen. If you print it out as it is at that time, the line pitch will be the standard value of the system, and the line spacing of the multiple lines that make up the formula will become larger.
There is a strong tendency for printed results to become difficult to see. Furthermore, if you output it as is, when editing such as inserting characters before the formula, the inputted formula may be destroyed on the display screen due to the movement of the character string. In the present invention, two methods shown in FIG. 9 are adopted as means to address the above-mentioned drawbacks. First, regarding the line pitch, we decided on an appropriate value for printing mathematical formulas within the system, and then added appropriate line pitch information to the output. r41 seen at the left end of the display screen example in FIG. 9 is the appropriate line pitch value determined in this manner, and rsJ is a line pitch symbol for returning the line pitch to its original value. ←On the other hand, regarding the destruction of mathematical formulas, as shown in FIG. 9, a means for displaying and outputting a block code by adding a ◆ frame is adopted. This block blocks the entire formula,
It will no longer be affected by the editing process in front. Fig. 10 is a diagram for explaining a method in which the method shown in Fig. 9 (row bitch) is further improved. As shown in Figure 10, by pressing the r execution 1 key, the operator is requested to set the line pitch.
If you select Standard, the appropriate line pitch information will be added and output by the system as in Figure 9. * 3am
, 4mm, and 5 questions are selected, the specified line pitch information is added and output, and when None is selected, the line pitch is not added and output, increasing operator freedom. This has the effect of increasing Further, in this embodiment, the settable row pitch values are determined as shown in FIG. 10, but the values are not limited to these values. Furthermore, the value selection method may be set by manually inputting a desired numerical value using a key, other than the one-sided menu method as shown in FIG. 10. FIG. 11-a is a diagram for explaining a method of displaying mathematical expression input in a conventional document processing device. As shown in the figure,
The cursor in the formula is a vertical bar cursor instead of the normal under cursor. This is the 11th-b
This is thought to be because using an under cursor as shown in the figure requires an extra space to be displayed at the end of the formula, which has the disadvantage of making the display difficult to read. However, if a vertical bar cursor is used, on devices that use an under cursor during normal document input, it will feel unnatural to the operator, making it difficult to understand the current input character width mode, and it will be necessary to add functionality to the display program. There are drawbacks such as. FIG. 11-b is a diagram for explaining the display method for inputting numerical formulas according to the present invention. As shown in the figure, an under cursor is used and an extra space is displayed at the end of each formula term (upper and lower limits of S, inside of J, numerator and denominator of fractions, and the end of the top and bottom of Σ). This is a space that exists so that you can add numbers, etc. at the end of each entered formula term. Otherwise, it will be difficult to add numbers etc. to the end of each formula term later. In this example,
The space at the end of the formula term, which is required when inputting this, is
It is displayed in the input formula window, and subresponses all at once when outputting to the document screen. FIG. 11-C is a diagram for explaining a method that is a further improvement of the display method for inputting mathematical expressions described with reference to FIG. 11-b. In this embodiment, as shown in the figure, the space explained in Figure 11-b is displayed only for the formula term where the cursor is present, thereby reducing the unnaturalness in the display. be. Of course, in this embodiment as well, when outputting to the document screen, this space is displayed subtended. FIG. 12-a is a diagram illustrating a case where fractions are successively input using a conventional document processing device. If a fraction line is large enough for multiple characters, it is common for the display to be cluttered, but the opposite effect is that if you enter fractions consecutively, as shown in the figure, two fraction lines are connected. The problem arises that the FIG. 12-b is a diagram illustrating a case where fractions are input continuously in the document processing apparatus of the present invention. As shown in the figure, when you enter fractions consecutively, two
By inserting a period between two fractional lines, the method has been improved to eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional method. In this embodiment, a period is inserted between two consecutive fractional rules, but a half-width or full-width space may be inserted, as will be described later with reference to FIG. 20-a. In this example, the explanation was given using fractional rules as an example, but
As will be described later with reference to FIG. 20-c, the same applies to the continuation of ruled lines when, for example, over-par is represented by ruled lines. Furthermore, the same applies not only to ruled lines, but also to the use of symbols that are connected and displayed/printed by interpolation when they are successive under normal control as mathematical symbols. FIG. 13 is an explanatory diagram showing the shift mode transition when a mathematical formula is input in the present invention. As shown in the figure, when inputting a mathematical formula, alphanumeric characters are usually entered following the mathematical symbol assigned to the soft key. We have adopted a method to forcibly change to alphanumeric mode in certain cases. Figure 14 shows pair brackets, {pair}, (pair) in the present invention.
, [Pair], 1 Pair 1 is a diagram for explaining a display method and input processing into pair parentheses when 1 is input. In the present invention, different processing is performed when a mathematical formula is input within parentheses entered using the paired parentheses soft key, and when a mathematical formula is input within parentheses manually entered one by one using normal keys. . Parentheses entered manually with the normal keys are treated as normal characters, whereas parentheses entered with the bare parentheses soft key are treated as characters entered inside them.
Brackets are automatically scaled (both horizontally and vertically) to the size of the symbol. In the present invention, the above 2f! In order to allow the operator to visually distinguish the difference between similar parentheses on the display, we have adopted a method in which the display format of parentheses created manually using the Pair Bracket soft key is changed from that of normal parentheses. are doing. A specific example is shown in FIG. In the same figure, (a+b)
The parentheses in ``Continue <', :in. 'ii':. 'i→1 indicates a parenthesis entered using the paired parentheses softkey, with the paired parentheses highlighted. Furthermore, once automatically enlarged, multiple lines of parentheses cannot be entered manually using normal keys, so there is no need to distinguish paired parentheses by highlighting them on the display. Therefore, it should be enlarged as shown in Figure 14! Brackets are returned to normal display. Furthermore, when the enlarged parentheses are reduced to a single line, they are displayed in reverse video again. FIG. 15 is a diagram illustrating a special case method of automatic enlargement processing of paired parentheses according to the present invention. In order to incorporate multi-line parentheses into a document, it is common to construct multi-line parentheses by combining multiple types of symbols. For example, if { is a table formula with three lines, it is necessary to center the entire series of formulas, and if you use the method of combining multiple types of symbols to create multi-line brackets as described above, It becomes impossible to display the center of the parentheses on even-numbered lines aligned with the center of the expression. For example, when a mathematical symbol (1, lim, vector, overbar, etc.) that takes two lines is entered inside a pair of parentheses, if you expand the pair of parentheses to two lines, it will be aligned to the center of the expression. Paired parentheses cannot be displayed. In the present invention, as shown in Fig. 15, when an expression consisting of an even number of lines is entered within a pair of parentheses, the bare parentheses are forcibly expanded to take odd numbered lines. By adopting this method (the number of lines of the formula entered within the bare parentheses + 1), it is possible to align the center of the bare parentheses with the center of the formula. This is an explanatory diagram showing a state when numerical values are input in a matrix in a document processing device. The figure is an example in which numerical values are input in a matrix of 3 rows and 3 columns, and the first digit of each column is Figure 17 is an explanatory diagram showing the state when numerical values are input in a matrix in the device of this embodiment. As shown in the figure, in this embodiment, the matrix By automatically performing decimal tab processing in the decimal tab, it is possible to align the first digit of each column and display it. Figure 18 shows that in a conventional document processing device, fractions, J, etc. This is an explanatory diagram showing the situation when multiple expressions are used. In the case of normal expressions, the centers of the expressions are aligned and displayed. However, within the upper and lower subscripts, the subscript and When displaying the formulas with their centers aligned, as shown in Figure 18, the upper and lower subscripts get mixed up, making it difficult to distinguish between them, or even between these subscripts and the following formula. Figure 19 is an explanatory diagram showing the display state when a large number of fractions, J, etc. are used in the upper and lower subscripts in the device of this embodiment. For subscripts, the bottom line of the formula that makes up the subscript is always the first line of the top subscript, and for a bottom subscript, the top line of the formula that makes up the subscript is always the first line of the bottom subscript. It is displayed aligned to the line at the first position (next to ■ in the example).By using this method, there is always one space between the upper and lower subscripts. Therefore, the upper and lower subscripts will not be mixed up, and the two will be clearly distinguished, and furthermore, the distinction between these subscripts and the following formula will be clear. Figure 20-a, Figure 20-b, Figure 20-c shows the 12th
FIG. 12 is a diagram for explaining another embodiment of a method for preventing fraction lines from connecting when fractions are inputted consecutively, as described with reference to the figures. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 12, a period is inserted between the fractional lines, but in the embodiment shown in FIG. 20-a, the problem is solved by inserting a half-width space. According to this method, there is no need to display unnecessary periods, resulting in further improvement. In addition, in the example shown in Figure 20-b, without inserting a half-width space, the left fractional rule is made into a ruled line code that extends only to the left and does not extend to the right, and the right fractional rule is made to extend only to the right and does not extend to the left. This is an example of solving the problem of connected fractional rules by converting to a ruled line code, which eliminates the need to display half-width spaces that are not actually input, and is further improved. Next, FIG. 20-c is an example in which a similar problem occurs in cases other than consecutive fractional rules. This figure shows the case where over-par (same as 6 in vector) is input next to J, and the J rule and over-pur rule are connected. 20th-
Figure d shows a case where the problem shown in Figure 20-C is solved by the method shown in Figures 20-a and 20-b. Figures 21-a and 21-b show that when a formula with an even number of rows is entered in bare parentheses, it is automatically expanded to a pair of parentheses with the number of rows in the r formula + 11 lines, as explained in connection with Figure 15. death,
FIG. 3 is a diagram for explaining an example of application to matrix input in relation to a method of displaying the center of bare parentheses aligned with the center of an expression. FIG. 21-a is a diagram illustrating an example in which a matrix of 2 rows and 1 column is input. As in the case of bare parentheses, if it is displayed as a two-row matrix, it will not be possible to align the center of the matrix with the center of the expression. Furthermore, the problem arises that the line spacing between the lth line and the second line becomes narrower, making it difficult to distinguish between the first line and the second line. In this example, as shown in the figure, when a matrix of 2 rows and 1 column is input, a bare matrix parenthesis of 2 rows and 11 rows is generated, and the tth row of the matrix is placed in the first row. , the second line is displayed on the third line, and a space line always exists between the lines. FIG. 21-b is a diagram illustrating an example in which a matrix of 3 rows and 1 column is input. When a matrix with 3 rows and I column is input, a bare matrix bracket with 3 rows and 2 rows is generated as shown in Figure 21-b in almost the same way as shown in Figure 21-a. , and the first row of the matrix is displayed on the first row, the second row is displayed on the third row, and the third row is displayed on the fifth row, and there is always 1 between the rows.
This method employs a method in which space lines exist. [Effects of the Invention] As explained above, according to the present invention, when fractional rules, J rules, etc. constituting different mathematical expression terms are input so as to be visually output consecutively in the horizontal direction, different has the effect of being separated and output.
