Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain simple and quick assembling by overlapping both upper and lower halves so that the tip of a projection at a coupling position is brought into contact with the butting face of other half and coupling them with ultrasonic wave welding. CONSTITUTION:Both upper and lower halves 2,3 are overlapped so that the tip of a projection 13 formed on a coupling part is brought into contact with the butting face 11a of other half, and ultrasonic wave is applied to the projection to couple both the upper and lower halves 2,3. In the operation of an ultrasonic wave welding machine, ultrasonic wave vibration is transmitted to a conical projection 13 from an exponential horn 15 and the conical projection 13 is heated, molten and welded. Thus, the screw tightening by a fixed screw is not required and the assembling of the disk cartridge is implemented easily and quickly and no crack is generated in the disk cartridge at the assembling.

Generally, a recording medium such as an optical disk or a magnetic disk is housed in a plastic disk cartridge. This disk cartridge consists of an upper half piece and a lower half piece, which are stacked and connected to each other so that the disk is sandwiched between them. When the two halves are overlapped, a protrusion is made to protrude from each half, these protrusions are aligned, and a bolt is inserted thereto to fix the two halves.

However, the conventional method of assembling a disk cartridge is
Since the fixing protrusions from both halves were simply aligned and the bolts were passed through them, there was a risk of cracks occurring at the screw tightening points on both halves, and the bolts were also relatively small, making the screw tightening operation cumbersome. However, it has the disadvantage that it takes time and effort to assemble.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a method for assembling a disk cartridge, in which an upper half piece and a lower half piece are combined, and the upper and lower halves are joined together at a joining point set at an appropriate position on both the upper and lower halves. A plurality of locations on the abutting surfaces of the circumferential wall of the half piece and the circumferential wall of the lower half piece are set as the coupling locations, a protrusion is formed on either of the upper and lower halves at the coupling location, and a tip of the protrusion is formed. After the upper and lower halves are placed on top of each other so that the two halves are in contact with the abutting surface of the other half, ultrasonic welding is performed on the protrusion to connect the upper and lower halves.

Further, in FIG. 2, reference numeral 12 indicates positioning portions for both the upper and lower half pieces 2 and 3 provided at multiple locations within the disk cartridge, and the positioning portions 12 include insertion protrusions 12a provided on the upper half piece 2 side, It consists of a receiving protrusion 12c having a hole 12b for inserting the insertion protrusion 12a provided on the lower half piece 3 side. When assembling the upper and lower halves 2.3, accurate alignment is achieved by inserting the insertion projection 12a into the hole 12b of the receiving projection 12c.

Mutual joining points J are set at several locations on 0a and lla, and as shown in FIG. A conical projection 13 is formed that projects toward the surface 11a. In the illustrated example, the conical projection 13 is formed into a conical shape to facilitate melting during welding. However, it may be in the shape of a pyramid, or it may be in the shape of a frustum with the tip slightly cut off. On the other hand, the abutting surface 11a of the peripheral wall 11 of the lower half piece 3 is formed flat over the entire circumference.

Next, apply an ultrasonic welder to sandwich the contact area. That is, in FIG. 1, the reference numeral 14 indicates a magnetostrictive oscillator that converts the high frequency from a high frequency oscillator (not shown) into longitudinal vibration, and the reference numeral 15 indicates a magnetostrictive oscillator that converts the longitudinal vibration into longitudinal vibration between the conical protrusion 13 and the abutment surface ↓1a. An exponential horn is shown for transmitting information to the location, and numeral 16 indicates a cradle. As the ultrasonic welding machine operates, ultrasonic vibrations are transmitted from the exponential horn 15 to the conical protrusion 13, and the conical protrusion 13 generates heat and melts to be bonded as shown in FIG.

As described above, the present invention sets a plurality of locations on the abutting surfaces of the peripheral wall of the upper half piece and the peripheral wall of the lower half piece as joint locations, and forms a protrusion on one of the upper and lower halves at the joint location. Then, after overlapping the upper and lower halves so that the tips of the protrusions are in contact with the abutting surfaces of the other half,
Since welding is performed using ultrasonic waves at the location of the protrusion,
The protrusions melt and the butt surfaces can be welded and butted together at the same time. Therefore, according to the present invention, there is no need to tighten fixing screws as in the conventional method, and the disk cartridge can be assembled easily and quickly, and the disk cartridge does not suffer from cracks or the like during assembly. Furthermore, since fixing screws are not required, the number of parts can be reduced accordingly.
