The mailbox is formed by forming a slot 3 on the upper side of a front plate 2 provided on the front surface of a box body 1, and attaching a slot cover 4 to the slot 3 so as to be openable and closable. It is possible to insert mail etc. If this mailbox is installed outdoors as a sign post or the like, rainwater may blow into the mailbox from the input port 3 at the upper end of the input port lid 4 due to the wind, as shown by the solid line arrow in FIG. As shown by the imaginary line in FIG. 5, rotate the input port cover 4 upward and
There is a problem in that when the mailbox is opened, rainwater adhering to the outer surface of the input port cover 4 flows into the mailbox, and the rainwater infiltrates into the mailbox and wets the mail that has been put into the box.

However, the mailbox according to the present invention has a box body 1
An input port 3 whose lower edge is the upper edge of the front plate 2 provided on the box body 1 is formed at the upper front of the box body 1, and the upper part of the input port cover 4 is pivoted to the input port 3 to close the input port 3. The input port cover 4 is supported so as to be movable up and down between the state where it hangs down and the state where the lower part is rotated upward toward the outside of the box body 1 to open the input port 3, and the input port cover 4 is supported in a position inside the input port cover 4. Attach the rain catch plate 6 to the lower surface of the top plate 5 of the box body 1 so as to hang down along the entire length of the input port cover 4, and attach the lower part of the rain catch plate 6 to the side of the input port cover 4 below the upper end of the input port cover 4. The rain catch plate 6 is bent to the side and the lower tip of the rain catch plate 6 is positioned outward from the upper end of the input port lid 4 and outward from the upper end of the front plate 2. The above object has been achieved by providing the above-mentioned device 6, and the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to examples.

An outlet cover 12 is attached as a front plate 2 to the lower part of the front opening of the box body 1. The part where the front plate 2 as the outlet cover 12 is attached serves as the outlet, and the front plate 2 is constructed by rotatably pivoting the shaft plates 13 on both sides to the shaft 18 of the side plate 11. By rotating the lower part upwardly toward the outside of the box body 1, the outlet can be opened. At the upper end of the front plate 2 installed in this way, there is an inclined piece 15 that acts as a guide when putting mail into the slot 3.
The front plate 2 is bent obliquely upward toward the inside of the box body 1, and a slot 3 is formed between the upper edge of the front plate 2 and the top plate 5 of the box body 1. The input port 3 is provided with an input port cover 4.

The input port 3 can be closed with an input port cover 4. The input port cover 4 is installed in a substantially hanging state, inclining diagonally downward toward the outside. The slot 3 can be closed, and by rotating the lower end of the slot cover 4 outward and upward, the slot 3 can be opened and mail can be thrown in.

This rain catch plate 6 is attached so as to be located inward of the box body 1 from the rotation locus of the upper end of the input port lid 4, and the lower part of the rain catch plate 6 has a circular cross section that is concentric with this rotation locus. It is bent in an arc shape toward the input lid 4 side, and the rain catcher plate 6
The bent tip of the nozzle is positioned outside the upper end of the input port cover 4 which closes the input port 3. At the same time, the bent tip of the rain catcher plate 6 is positioned outward from the tip of the inclined plate 15, which is the upper end of the front plate 2. That is, the horizontal dimension A between the front surface of the box body 1 and the upper end of the front plate 2 is set to be larger than the horizontal dimension B between the front surface of the box body 1 and the bent tip of the rain catcher plate 6. be.

Rainwater that passes through the input port 3 from the upper end of the input port cover 4 is intercepted and received by the rain catcher plate 6, and can be prevented from entering the mailbox. Furthermore, even if the rainwater adhering to the surface of the input port cover 4 flows into the mailbox when the lower part of the input port cover 4 is rotated upward to open the input port 3, this rainwater is collected by the rain catch plate 6. The mail can be blocked and received, and can be prevented from entering the inside of the mailbox. The rainwater received by the rain catcher plate 6 is discharged downward from the tip of the lower end, but this rainwater flows down to the surface side of the inclined plate 15 which is the upper end of the front plate 2, and the rainwater is discharged from the tip of the lower end. It will flow along the surface and be discharged.

要がある。 Incidentally, as shown in FIG. 1, a rain bucket 16 may be provided at the upper end of the back surface of the front plate 2 to catch rainwater that has flowed over the upper end of the front plate 2. In this case, the rain bucket 16 is the upper end of the front plate 2, and the bent end of the lower part of the rain bucket 6 may be positioned outward from the upper end of the rain bucket 16, which is the upper end of the front plate 2. When rainwater from the rain catcher plate 6 is received by the rain catcher 16, the rainwater in the rain catcher 16 flows down from the openings at both ends of the rain catcher 16 into the drain bucket 17 provided on the inner surface of the side plate 2. ,
The mail is discharged from the tip of the discharge bucket 17 to the outside of the mailbox. Further, in the above embodiment, the front plate 2 is formed by the outlet cover 12, but the front plate 2 is made of a plate material in order to close the front opening of the box body 1, leaving the input port 3. In this case, the back of the box body 1 is opened as an outlet,
It is necessary to attach an outlet cover to this outlet.

As mentioned above, in the present invention, a slot is formed in the front upper part of the box body, the lower edge of which is the upper edge of the front plate provided on the box body, and the slot cover is movable up and down in this slot. Attach the rain catch plate to the bottom of the top plate of the box body at a position inside the input port lid by hanging it down along the entire length of the input port lid, and place the lower part of the rain catch plate below the top edge of the input port toward the input port side. Since it is bent and the lower tip of the rain catcher plate is located outward from the upper end of the input port and outward from the upper end of the front plate, rainwater that enters from the upper end of the input port through the input port and the input port is prevented. Even if rainwater that enters from the surface of the input opening flows into the mailbox when the is rotated upward, this rainwater is intercepted and received by the rain catcher plate, preventing it from entering the inside of the mailbox. It can be prevented, and there is no risk of mail etc. getting wet with rainwater, and furthermore, the rainwater caught by the rain catcher plate will flow down to the surface side of the upper end of the front plate and be discharged.
It is possible to reliably prevent rainwater from entering the mailbox.
