Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a substantial printing speed same to the printing speed in case of single surface printing by respectively arranging a printing mechanism part printing the surface of paper and a printing mechanism part printing the rear of the paper at upper and lower positions and making the paper running directions in the upper and lower printing mechanism parts reverse. CONSTITUTION:This printing apparatus is constituted of a printing mechanism part 1 capable of printing the surface of paper, a printing mechanism part 2 capable of printing the rear of the paper, a paper guide part 3 guiding the paper whose surface is printed from the printing mechanism part 1 to the printing mechanism part 2, a pickup roller 6 supplying the paper, a timing roller 8 aligning the timing of printing start, a laser optical unit 9, a developing device 11, a transfer charger 12, a photosensitive drum 13 and a fixing roller 14. The paper printed by the surface printing mechanism part is guided to the paper guide part 3 to be supplied to the rear printing mechanism part 2 through a paper guide plate 15 and a paper feed roller 16. The printing process of the printing mechanism part 2 is same to that of the printing mechanism part 1 but opposite to a paper running direction 7 as shown by a paper running direction 18.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to printers, facsimile machines, and copying machines having two printing units, and particularly to a double-sided paper printing mechanism system.

In conventional printers, the duplex printing mechanism has only one printing section, so after printing on one side of the paper, a mechanism is required to return the paper to the paper feed slot of the printing section again, or a mechanism to turn the paper side to the other side. Met. Furthermore, since the same mechanism as that used for the previously printed printing surface is used, new paper cannot be supplied while printing is being performed on the back side, and the printing speed cannot be increased in practice.

In the case of the above-mentioned conventional double-sided printing mechanism, since one printing section is commonly used for double-sided printing, it has a mechanism for reversing the printed paper to the opposite side. The biggest drawback is that the printing start position does not match the front side and the back side (second printing side), so it was necessary to print on the back side from the bottom side with respect to the front side. Therefore, an image memory for the back side page was required, and the data had to be inverted, requiring complicated data processing.

Furthermore, since one printing section is shared, the printing speed cannot be increased, and the printing speed is only 1/2 or less compared to single-sided printing.

According to the present invention, in a printer capable of printing on both sides of paper, the printing mechanism section has a printing mechanism section that prints on the front side of the paper and a printing machine supplementary section that prints on the back side, and each printing mechanism The paper guides that lead to the printing mechanism section that prints on the back side are shaped to guide the paper in the opposite direction to the paper running direction when printing on the front side. [Double-sided printing printer system] characterized in that the printing direction is reversed.

The fixed paper is guided to the paper guide section 3 and supplied to the printing mechanism section 2 via the paper guide plate 15 and the paper feed roller 16. In this embodiment, the pickup roller 6 of the printing mechanism section 2 is not used and the light is guided directly to the timing roller 18. The printing process of the printing mechanism section 2 is the same as that of the printing mechanism section 1, but as shown in the paper running direction 18, it is opposite to the paper running direction 7.
