In general, when food is stored in a refrigerator, various odors are emitted from the food, which can make people feel disgusted when the refrigerator door is opened, or the odors of other foods may transfer to the stored food, spoiling the flavor of the food. There were some drawbacks. Conventionally, activated carbon was placed inside the refrigerator and its adsorption properties were used to remove odors from inside the refrigerator. It is difficult to judge whether the activated carbon has reached the saturated adsorption amount or not, and the activated carbon has to be replaced every short period of time.

Reference numeral 18 denotes a partition plate installed between the ozone generator 3 and the ozone decomposition device 5, made of an electrically insulating material, around which the mixed gas from the ozone reaction chamber 4 is directed to the ozone decomposition device 3 side. A gap 19 for guiding is formed. The partition plate 18 is for preventing a discharge phenomenon between the high voltage electrode 9 of the ozone generator 3 and the ozone decomposition device 3 (activated carbon filter).

Next, to explain the operation, in FIG. 1, the fan 13 is
The air taken into the refrigerator passes through an air gap 11 between a high-voltage electrode 9 and a stainless-steel metal low-voltage electrode 10, which are made of plate-shaped stainless steel metal molded with an epoxy resin dielectric 7. When doing so, high voltage generator 1
A stable silent discharge is generated by the high voltage supplied from 5, and the oxygen contained in the air (odor) in the refrigerator is changed into ozone (O 3 ), which further reacts with malodorous components in the ozone reaction chamber 4. However, unreacted ozone is oxidized and removed by the ozone decomposition device 5, and this treated air passes through the fan 13 and is discharged from the exhaust hole 2 into the refrigerator. In the above, as shown in the electric circuit of the high voltage generator 15 in FIG.
Capacitor C2 is charged via resistor R1 and diode D1 during the positive half cycle of the sinusoidal voltage supplied by R1. Next, during the negative half cycle, capacitor C1 is charged via resistor R2,
When the capacitor C2 reaches the switching voltage of the thyristor SCR, a gate current flows through the resistor R3, current flows through the high voltage transformer T, and a pulsed high voltage is generated on the secondary side of the high voltage transformer T.
10, ozone is generated by discharge.

(b) Since the ozone decomposition device (activated carbon filter) 5 is conductive, if the ozone decomposition device 5 and the high voltage electrode are too close to each other, a phenomenon occurs in which electric discharge occurs between the high voltage electrode 9 and the ozone decomposition device 5. However, by providing the insulating partition plate 18 in the ozone reaction chamber 4, the distance between the high voltage electrode 9 and the ozone decomposition device 5 can be shortened, and the device can be made smaller.

Since the present invention is constructed as described above, it is possible to obtain an efficient and stable deodorizing effect using ozone, and also to expect a sterilizing effect due to the ozone, thereby obtaining a deodorizing device that is also hygienically good. Of course, by arranging a partition plate made of electrically insulating material between the ozone generator and the ozone decomposition device, unnecessary discharge phenomena between the two can be eliminated, and the distance between the two can be minimized. This has the remarkable effect that the entire device can be designed to be small and compact.
