It is generally obtained by integral molding. In the prior art described above, the centers of the circumferential wall and the peripheral frame are aligned, and the top, bottom, left and right sides are symmetrical, and the peripheral frame can be provided with reinforcing ribs, thereby preventing distortion during molding. It is easy to attach the fan shroud to the radiator without leaving any gaps between them.

シユラウドが開発されている。 However, recently, due to the downsizing of engines and restrictions on the interior of the engine room, efforts have been made to reduce the thickness of fan shrouds and to make radiators more compact. Furthermore, due to engine mounting restrictions, the fan may have to be placed eccentrically from the center of the fan shroud. In order to meet these demands, a fan shroud has been developed in which a part of the circumferential wall surrounding the fan protrudes radially from the peripheral frame, and an extension wall that hangs down toward the radiator core surface is formed on the back of this protrusion. being developed.

Because it is not possible to provide a reinforcing rib on the extension wall c formed on the back surface of the portion (protrusion) b that protrudes in the radial direction from the peripheral frame portion a, due to the need to secure a fan rotation space, the extension wall c shown in FIG. Like, extension wall c
is distorted into an arcuate shape, and a gap e is formed between it and the radiator d, which reduces the cooling effect of the radiator d, and has the disadvantage that the chatter of the extension wall c causes noise generation.

In a fan shroud made of synthetic resin that is integrally formed so as to protrude in the radial direction, an extension wall that covers the back surface of the protruding portion of the circumferential wall is suspended toward the core surface of the radiator, and is attached to the flange portion at both ends. It is characterized in that it is formed so as to be integrally continuous, and that the extension wall is slightly curved and protrudes toward the radiator side with respect to the core surface.

(The amount of protrusion is indicated by f.) It is formed in an arc shape. In order to form it in this way, it was found in manufacturing tests that the shape of the cavity in the portion of the molding die that forms the protruding portion 2 must be formed to have a larger protrusion amount than the protrusion amount f. It is becoming clear.

Providing reinforcing ribs (not shown) on the peripheral wall 9 is advantageous because it can improve the strength of the fan shroud and reduce distortion during molding.
Further, mounting screw holes 10, 10, . . . are provided on the left and right side edges of the flange portion 8.

By tightening the mounting screws 11, 11, . Therefore, since the extension wall 4 is in close contact with the core surface 6 under pressure, there is no gap between the two that would allow air to leak.
Also, noise due to chatter is no longer generated. It goes without saying that the method for molding the fan shroud is not limited to injection molding, and that other molding methods can also be used.

ことができる。(Operations and Effects of the Invention) The present invention relates to a fan shroud in which a part of the circumferential wall surrounding the fan protrudes from the peripheral frame (and by extension, the radiator), and the protruding part is an extension formed on the back surface of the fan shroud. Although it is covered with a wall and it is impossible to reinforce this extension wall with reinforcing ribs due to the need to secure a space for the fan to rotate, it is constructed so that it comes into pressure contact with the core surface of the radiator. , the fan shroud can be installed so that no gap is formed between it and the radiator. As a result, air is not sucked in through the gap between the radiator and the fan shroud, preventing a decrease in the amount of air passing through the radiator, and increasing the cooling effect of the radiator.
Since the fan shroud can be attached in close contact with the radiator, the noise caused by chatter of the fan shroud in the conventional example can be eliminated.
