する原稿幅発生手段と、該原稿幅情報に基づいて
原稿等の先端及び側端部位置を示す位置情報を生
成する位置検出手段と、順次得られる上記位置検
出手段からの位置情報を記憶する第1のメモリと
、該第1のメモリに記憶した一走査前の位置情報
と現在得られた位置情報とから原稿等の傾き量を
算出しそのときの傾き方向符号を生成する第1の
演算手段と、上記第1の演算手段により得られた
現在の傾き量と後記第2のメモリに記憶された傾
き量とから現在までの傾き量を算出する第2の演
算手段と、該第2の演算手段にて得た傾き量を記
憶する第2のメモリと、上記第1の演算手段によ
り得られた傾き方向符号の変化に応じて上記第2
のメモリを制御する制御手段と、上記第1の演算
手段により得られた原稿等の先端、側端部夫々に
対応する上記傾き方向符号のうちいずれが先に変
化するかを判定する判定手段とを備えたことを特
