，ｂに示すアペツクスシール素材を焼き戻し処理
及びアペツクスシール形状への加工を施して後の
アペツクスシールの形状を示す説明図で、同図ａ
が本実施例に係るアペツクスシール、同図ｂが従
来のアペツクスシール、第４図は第３図ａ，ｂに
示すアペツクスシールの強度測定要領を示す説明
図、第５図は通常のロータリエンジンの一例を示
す断面図、第６図は第５図に示すロータリエンジ

のアペツクスシールにおいて、上記表面硬化層の
厚さを、上記アペツクスシールの中央部で厚く、
両端部で薄く形成したことを特徴とするロータリ
ピストンエンジンのアペツクスシール。
