(Description of Prior Art) For example, in the case of a vehicle, vehicle interior materials such as instrument panels and armrests are mainly made of elastic materials in order to protect occupants in the event of a vehicle collision, and these are generally collectively referred to as safety pads. has been done. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional safety pad 10. However, the conventional safety pad 10 has a base material 1 made of an elastic synthetic resin foam such as polyurethane foam.
Since the surface material 12 made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as a soft vinyl chloride resin sheet is laminated on the surface side of the safety pad 10, when this material is attached to an open vehicle such as a two-wheeled vehicle or an open car, the back surface of the safety pad 10 Rainwater or car wash water will seep into the interior, making it impossible to put it to practical use as it is, and requiring various post-work efforts.
Improvements were required. Furthermore, the back side of the conventional safety pad 10 is coated with a mold release agent applied to the cavity of the mold to facilitate demolding, making it impossible to assemble the safety pad 10 to a vehicle using a mounting agent. It also had the disadvantage of being possible.

First, the waterproof safety pad, which is the first invention, will be explained. FIG. 2 is a partial perspective view of a waterproof safety pad (hereinafter referred to as safety pad) 20 which is an embodiment of the present invention. This example will be explained below. The safety pad 20 consists of a base material 21 made of an elastic synthetic resin foam such as soft or semi-rigid polyurethane foam, and a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet such as a soft vinyl chloride resin sheet laminated on the surface side of this base material 21. It is composed of a surface material 22 and a waterproof film 23 laminated on the surface side of the base material 21 and made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin film such as a polyamide film.

Next, a method for manufacturing a safety pad, which is the second invention, will be explained. FIGS. 3 and 4 are sectional views illustrating an example of manufacturing the safety pad 20 described above, and the following description will be made with reference to these figures. The safety pad 20 is attached to the mold half 2
The above-mentioned surface material 22 made of thermoplastic synthetic resin and inserts for reinforcing or mounting as required are set in the cavity 24c of 4a, and a synthetic resin foam such as soft polyurethane foam is produced in the cavity 24c. Inject the raw material 21a,
Thereafter, the mold is closed by the other half 24b of the mold through the waterproof film 23 made of thermoplastic synthetic resin, and the raw material 21 for forming the synthetic resin foam is closed.
After the base material 21 is formed by foaming in step (a), the molded product is taken out from the mold and unnecessary parts of the molded product are trimmed. In addition, before closing the mold, the waterproof film 23 is attached to the mold half body 24b with a pin 24d.
Fixed by At this time, the waterproof film 23 does not conform to the shape of the molding part 24e of the mold half body 24b, but by closing the mold as shown in FIG. Closely attached to 24e. The surface material 22, base material 21, and waterproof film 23 are integrated by the self-adhesive force of the synthetic resin foam forming raw material 21a during foaming. Especially waterproof film 2
In order to strengthen the adhesion between the waterproof film 23 and the base material 21, it is preferable to use a polyamide film as the waterproof film 23, which can be applied to a body etc. by applying an adhesive, or can be pasted by melting the film with hot air, high frequency, etc. things become possible.

(Effect of the invention) As described above, the safety pad according to the present invention has
The front side of the base material made of synthetic resin foam is covered with a surface material made of thermoplastic synthetic resin, and the back side is covered with a waterproof film, so it is waterproof and can be used without a lid on motorcycles, open cars, etc. In fields where waterproofness is required for vehicles, agricultural machinery, construction machinery, motor boats, etc., it can be used as is for instrument panels, armrests, etc.

In addition, during manufacturing, the raw material for the synthetic resin foam that forms the base material is foamed in a space surrounded by the surface material and the waterproof film, so the raw material and the mold do not come into direct contact with each other. Therefore, the molded product can be easily released from the mold without using a mold release agent, which is good for hygiene, and since the mold release surface does not adhere to the safety pad, the safety pad can be easily attached to a vehicle, etc. with an adhesive. There are some advantages to doing so.
