【考案の詳細な説明】 <技術分野> 本考案は液晶表示装置に於ける液晶セルと回路
部品の接続構造の改良に関する。

<従来技術> 従来、液晶表示装置に於いて液晶セルと回路部
品との間の配線接続はプリント配線基板の上にゴ
ムコネクタを介して液晶セルを載置し、該液晶セ
ルの上からシヤーシ(窓枠)にて押さえる構造を
採つていた。しかし、この構造では装置全体の厚
みを充分薄くすることができなかつた。液晶表示
素子はCRT等他の表示体と比較して素子形状が
非常に薄いということが大きな特徴であり、従来
構造の装置は液晶表示素子のもつ上記特徴を充分
に生かしきれない面があつた。

<目的> 本考案は以上の従来点に鑑みなされたものであ
り、液晶表示装置の厚みを極力薄くするための新
規な接続構造を提供することを目的とするもので

<実施例> 以下、本考案に係る液晶表示装置の一実施例に
ついて図面を用いて詳細に説明する。

第1図は本考案に係る液晶表示装置の一実施例
の側面断面図、第2図はその一部分解斜視図であ
る。1は液晶セルであり、2aは表偏光板、2b
は裏偏光板で夫々液晶セル1に貼り付けられる。
3は液晶表示部の窓枠(シヤーシ)である。窓枠
3の裏面には液晶駆動用の回路部品4が配置さ
れ、従つて窓枠3はその裏面にプリント配線が施
こされるプリント配線基板を構成する。上記窓枠
3の裏面の窓周縁部には上記回路部品4の端子部
が形成され、該端子部と液晶セル1の電極1aと
がゴムコネクター5で接続される。6は液晶セル
1を窓枠3に固定する固定用金具、7はビスであ
る。又8は液晶セル1の背後から照明を行なうバ
ツクライトである。第1図及び第2図に示す如く
液晶セル1後部基板は、該後部基板の側に電極1
aが存在する為に大きく前部基板(セグメント基
板)の大きさは窓枠3の窓の大きさと略同じで小
さくしてある。以上の実施例の構造では、窓枠3
に回路部品4が取り付けられる為、装置全体の薄
型化を計ることができ、又、液晶セル1の背後に
照明体を設置する際、該照明体を支障なく配置で
きるものである。尚、上記実施例では透過型の液
晶表示装置について示したが裏偏光板2bの裏面
に反射板を設置して反射型の液晶表示装置として
も構わない。又、表偏光板2aを窓より大きくし
て窓枠3の表側に貼り付けても構わない。
