Conventional examples of this type have a structure called a disk shape (coin shape, button shape) as shown in Figure 1, and are made by molding materials made of graphite, activated carbon, carbon black, and some binder, etc. A separator 3 impregnated with an electrolyte 2 is interposed between an electrode 1 supported on a stainless steel net or a carbon electrode 1 made of carbon fiber, especially activated carbon fiber cloth,
Metal case 6 and top lid 5 that serve as a current collector and exterior material
And it is sealed by a packing 4 which serves both as insulation and as a sealing material.

端に小さくなり、実用的ではなくなる。 By the way, when carbon fiber cloth is used as this carbon electrode, the surface area of carbon fiber and electrical resistance/flexibility are generally inversely proportional, so as carbon fiber is activated to activated carbon fiber, the surface area increases. As a result, the carbonization yield decreases,
Electrical resistance and flexibility deteriorate. Therefore, in order to use it as a polarizable electrode of an electric double layer capacitor,
Carbonization yield is 10%, although it varies depending on the type of raw fiber.
A material with a relatively large surface area is desirable. but,
It has the disadvantage that it cannot withstand mechanical stress during electrode processing because it loses flexibility. On the other hand, when the carbonization yield is around 80%, electrical resistance, flexibility, and strength are excellent, but the surface area becomes small and the capacitance becomes extremely small, making it impractical.

る。 In this invention, for example, if two sheets of carbon fiber cloth with a carbonization yield of about 10% and a carbon fiber cloth with a carbonization yield of about 80% are stacked together and force is applied to grind them, the carbonization yield is weak in flexibility and strength. Ten%
The premise is that the carbon fiber cloth of approximately 80% will be broken into pieces and filled into the gaps between the carbon fiber cloth, which is flexible and strong and has a carbonization yield of approximately 80%, to take advantage of each of its characteristics. That is, this invention:
Instead of this carbon fiber cloth with a carbonization yield of about 10%, carbon materials such as ordinary powdered activated carbon, graphite, carbon black, etc. are used to fill the gaps in the carbon fiber cloth with a carbonization yield of about 80%. It is.
This not only makes manufacturing easier, but also provides superior electrical resistance, strength, flexibility, and capacitance compared to conventional products. As a result, it is possible to secure a sufficient capacitance, greatly reduce internal resistance, and withstand mechanical stress during manufacturing, which has great practical value.
