化物などの水溶液よりなる脱臭処理剤が各種出現
してそれぞれの期待する程度の脱臭効果を発揮し
ている。

本発明において主成分とする硫酸第一鉄
(FeSO4・7H2O)はこれに加配された甘橘類の果
汁成分との混合水溶液として家畜糞尿に散布して
おけば、糞尿中の硫化水素およびアンモニアの一
部は硫酸第一鉄と逐次反応して硫化鉄および硫酸
アンモニウムを生成し、他方、甘橘類の果汁成分
はこれを組成するリンゴ酸、クエン酸、蟻酸、シ
ユウ酸、酢酸、グリコール酸、ケトグルタル酸、
ビタミンCなどのうち蟻酸、シユウ酸、酢酸は同
じく糞尿中のアンモニアの一部と反応して蟻酸ア
ンモニウム、シユウ酸アンモニウム、酢酸アンモ
ニウムを生成するものと推量され、その結果、糞
尿の悪臭源である硫化水素およびアンモニアの大
部分は糞尿中に前記のような無臭の化合物となつ
て固定され、糞尿からの悪臭な発散は大きく抑止
されるものである。なお、前記甘橘類の果汁成分
はゆず、かぼす、レモン、みかん類などの天然果
汁をそのまま使用するか或いはこれらの天然果汁
に近似な組成となるように各組成化合物を調合し
て水溶液としたものを使用するかは適宜である。
しかして、甘橘類の果汁成分のうち蟻酸、シユウ
酸、酢酸は前記のように糞尿中の悪臭源の一つで
あるアンモニアの一部の無臭化に効果があるもの
であるが、その他のリンゴ酸、クエン酸、グリコ
ール酸、ケトグルタル酸などはそれらの総合的な
香気を糞尿に付与することとなり、また、ビタミ
ンCは前記のような果汁成分の有機酸とは別に特
有の消臭作用を発揮するものである。

一鉄による前記悪臭抑止作用は一層向上されるこ
とが実験により確認され、そして、これらの添加
は肥料成分として有効なマグネシウムおよびマン
ガンの増強にもなるものである。また、明礬の少
量を添加しておけば、使用前における水溶液の安
定に効果があり、沈澱物の生成をよく防止できる
ものであり、さらに、必要に応じてサイクロデキ
ストリンなどの一般的な消臭剤を少量添加してお
くようなことは適宜である。

た甘橘類の果汁成分を組成する各種有機酸をもつ
て主としてアンモニアの一部を無臭の化合物とし
て固定するとともにビタミンCをもつて特有の消
臭作用を発揮させ、牛舎、豚舎などの畜舎の糞尿
やその堆積間の糞尿の脱臭を効果的に行うことが
できるものであり、しかも、糞尿処理後堆積して
田畠に肥料として施した場合には、加配した甘橘
類の果汁成分に基づく有機化合物が有機質肥料化
することによつて土壌に好影響を与えることにな
るものであつて、従来のこの種脱臭処理剤の問題
点を解決したものとして畜産業者に寄与するとこ
ろ大なものである。
