(産業上の利用分野)
この発明は、複写機等の画像形成装置の紙詰り処理機構
に用いられる開閉装置に関する。
(従来の技術)
第4図は従来の開閉装置を適用した画像形成装置101
を示している。この画像形成装置101の装置本体10
2は、光学系103及び画像形成部104を備えた上部
筐体105と、この上部筐体105を載置した下部筐体
106とから構成されているとともに、転写紙Aを収納
した複数のカセットlO7を、前面側から別々に装着で
きるようになっている。
一方、装置本体102の側面に上下に連設した開口部1
08,109には、下辺側の軸110゜111を支点と
して開閉できるカバー112゜113が別個に取付けら
れており、装置本体102内で転写紙Aが詰まった際に
は、この力/<−112,113を開放して処理できる
ように構成されている。
(発明が解決しようとする課題)
しかしながら、上記従来例においては、カバー112と
カバー113を両方開放した状態で、ユーザーが下方の
開口部109から装置本体102内に手や工具を差し込
んで紙詰まりの処理を行なおうとすると、上方のカバー
112が邪魔、になる、この結果、装置本体102内の
紙詰まり箇所が見えなかったり、極端に屈み込むといっ
た無理な姿勢をとらなければならず、処理作業に支障を
来すこととなっていた。
この発明は上記課題を解決するためのもので、上方のカ
バーと下方のカバーとを両方間いた状態において、下方
の開口部側で処理を行なう際に上方のカバーが邪魔にな
らない開閉装置を提供することを目的としている。
(課題を解決するための手、段)
上記目的を達成するためこの発明は、第一手段として、
装置本体の側面に上下に連設された開口部に、下辺側を
支点として開閉する二枚のカバーを別個に取付けてなる
開閉装置において、上方のカバーであって、開放時に装
置本体の側面から突出する方向の長さを、下方のカバー
であって、開放時に装置本体の側面から突出する方向の
長さよりも短かく設定したものである。
また、第二手段として、装置本体の側面に上下に連設さ
れた開口部に、下辺側を支点として開閉する二枚のカバ
ーを別個に取付けてなる開閉装置において、上方のカバ
ーの開き角を、下方のカバーの開き角よりも小さく設定
したものである。
(作 用)
上記構成に基づく第一手段の作用は、二枚のカバーを同
時に開放すると、装置本体の側面からの突出量は、上方
のカバーの方が下方のカバーよりも少ない。
また、第二手段の作用は、二枚のカバーを同時に開放す
ると、装置本体の側面に対する開き角は、上方のカバー
の方が下方のカバーよりも小さい。
(実施例)
次に、この発明を第1図〜第3図に基づいて説明する。
第1図はこの発明の第1手段を適用した画像形成装置l
の概略構成を示し、この画像形成装置lの装置本体2は
、上部筐体3と下部筐体4とから構成されている。上部
筐体3の内部上方には光源9反射ミラー、レンズ等から
なる光学手段5が設けられ、この光学手段5の下方には

口部23.24の両方からのぞき込んで詰まり状態をよ
く確認しつつ処理することとなる。この場合、例えば上
方の開口部23からのぞき、下方の開口部24から手や
工具を差し込んで転写紙Pの処理を行なうような場合で
あっても、下方のカバー26の上方に充分なる空間が確
保されているから、上方のカバー25が邪魔になること
はなく、速やかに処理を遂行することができる。また、
下方の開口部24内をのぞき込む際にも1作業者が無理
な姿勢をとる必要もない。
第2図は第二手段を示している。上方のカバー25と下
方のカバー26は軸27,28を支点として開閉すると
ともに、可とう性の開度規制手段30.31によって開
き角θ! 、θ2が規制されている。つまり、上部筐体
3と上方のカバー25とを接続した開度規制手段30の
長さは、下部筐体4と下方のカバー26とを接続した開
度規制手段31の長さよりも短いため、開き角θ】はθ
