In a transmission with a synchromesh mechanism having a shift booster that reduces shift operation force using fluid pressure, the gearbox is partitioned by a piston of the booster into which fluid pressure is introduced in response to a shift operation. The outlet portions of fluid discharge passages formed in communication with both cylinder chambers are connected to each other by a communication pipe, and the communication pipe is connected to a discharge pipe whose one end is open to the atmosphere and whose other end is a fluid supply pipe that supplies pressurized fluid to the cylinder chamber.
