The present invention relates to a welding wire that can stably reduce blowholes, pits, etc. in weld metal by reducing the amount of hydrogen in various wires such as TIG wire and black-cored wire. (Prior art and problems to be solved) It is absolutely necessary to suppress the amount of hydrogen contained in the wire in order to reduce blowholes, pits, etc. in the weld metal. Conventionally, for example, in the case of wire for aluminum, methods for suppressing the amount of hydrogen contained in the wire include (1) keeping the wire from being exposed to the atmosphere as much as possible, and (2) using it up as soon as possible after opening. (3) A common method is to include a desiccant such as silica gel in the package. However, these methods are passive methods, and it is difficult to reduce the amount of hydrogen to less than the amount that the wire originally has. Also, there are many things that need to be taken into account when storing and managing the wire, so it is not stable. This did not lead to lowering the amount of hydrogen in the wire. As a result, blowholes in the weld metal,
It was quite difficult to completely and stably eliminate pits and the like. On the other hand, hydrogen sources for wires include (1) from the atmosphere, (2) from deposits such as oil on the wire surface, and (3) from flux raw materials in the case of flux-cored wires. Since these are the main causes, methods to proactively suppress the amount of hydrogen have been taken, such as (1) degreasing the wire, (2) selecting flux raw materials or adjusting the blend. However, it is difficult to control this, especially hydrogen that comes from the atmosphere, which is mainly caused by adhering to hot materials during storage or due to differences in hydrogen partial pressure during welding. Moreover, in order to ensure complete degreasing, it is a heavy burden in terms of equipment and time. Furthermore,
Controlling flux raw materials from a hydrogen perspective is
Flux is often blended at the expense of other properties such as workability and bead shape to some extent, and this cannot be said to be a desirable measure. The present invention eliminates the drawbacks of the above-mentioned prior art, can be applied to various types of wires, and can reduce the amount of hydrogen in the wire by a simple means, thereby preventing blowholes in the weld metal. The object of the present invention is to provide a welding wire that can stably reduce pits and the like. (Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, the inventors of the present invention have worked hard to find ways to effectively reduce the amount of hydrogen, particularly from the atmosphere and from oil adhering to wires. As a result of repeated research, we focused on the fact that fluorine has the effect of lowering the water vapor partial pressure during welding, but the effect varies depending on how fluorine is used, and it is important to control the amount of fluorine generated at relatively low temperatures on the wire surface. The present invention has been made based on the discovery that the welding wire according to the present invention has an amount of fluorine (converted amount) generated when fired at 500°C in an oxygen atmosphere. The present invention will be described in more detail below.Fluorine is generally effective in lowering water vapor partial pressure during welding. This has been known for a long time, and for this reason, in hot materials using flux, for example, a method has been adopted in which inorganic fluorides such as CaF and NaF are blended into the flux. This reduces the amount of water vapor during welding. It has been confirmed that the amount of hydrogen in the weld metal decreases as the pressure decreases. However, the decomposition temperature of these inorganic fluorides is high (1400℃ for CaF□, 1400℃ for NaF). is 1080°C), and will not decompose unless it reaches such a high temperature. In the present invention, in view of the fact that fluoride that decomposes at such a high temperature is insufficient in the above-mentioned effect, and also causes problems in flux formulation. We found that in order to make fluorine more effective, it is necessary to decompose it at a lower temperature and thereby generate fluorine vapor. It has been found that it is effective to attach a fluorine compound with a low decomposition temperature. An example of such a fluorine compound is organic PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene).Figure 1 shows the structure of this PTFE. The figure shows the thermal decomposition reaction. As shown in this figure, PTFE decomposes at low temperatures below 500°C, producing several low molecular products. All of these low molecular products are extremely susceptible to decomposition during welding. Free fluorine is easily released and the amount of fluorine in the welding atmosphere increases, which lowers the partial pressure of water vapor and reduces the amount of hydrogen in the weld metal, ultimately reducing the occurrence of blowholes in the weld metal. As mentioned above, as an organic fluorine compound having a low decomposition temperature, it is more effective to use one with a molecular weight of 20,000 or less, rather than a polymer with a molecular weight of tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands. 2 like this
Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-17638 has been known as a similar technique using an organic fluorine compound having a molecular weight of less than 1,000,000, but as described below, it is fundamentally different from the present invention. In other words, the technology disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-17638 was intended to eliminate the need for plating and ensure feedability by crimping a large amount of fluorine-based resin onto the surface of the wire. This often impairs the roundness, which is one of the causes of poor feedability during welding.
In particular, it is difficult to attach it to soft wires such as aluminum welding wires. Furthermore, if the amount of fluorine-based resin is increased, since the fluorine-based resin itself is an insulator,
It impairs the arc stability during welding, especially for wires that are not normally plated with copper, such as aluminum welding wires. , the arc became extremely unstable, and in severe cases, it was sometimes impossible to continue the arc itself. On the other hand, the present invention does not have such problems with the conventional technology, and has a different purpose (to reduce the amount of hydrogen in the wire to reduce blowholes and pits in the weld metal), and therefore, The means are also different since a small amount of fluorine compound is deposited on the wire surface. In particular, if the preferred embodiments of the present invention are compared with the prior art described above, the differences between the two will be obvious at a glance. Therefore, the present invention is applicable to various wires. Next, the reasons for limitations in the present invention will be explained. As described above, fluorine or a fluorine compound is attached to the wire surface in such a manner that the amount of fluorine generated (converted amount) when fired at 500° C. in an oxygen atmosphere is 5 to 300 ppm. If the amount of fluorine is less than 5 ppm, the shielding effect during welding will be insufficient, and as a result, pits and blowholes cannot be sufficiently reduced, and the feedability will be poor. On the other hand, when the amount of fluorine exceeds 300 ppm, the conductivity between the wire and the contact tip during welding deteriorates, resulting in a decrease in arc stability, and in severe cases, welding becomes impossible. Furthermore, the surface of the weld bead after welding becomes less likely to be contaminated by decomposition products. Of course, the amount of fluorine in the above range is the amount generated when firing at 500° C. in an oxygen atmosphere. This is because fluorine compounds need to be decomposed at a low temperature of 500°C. Examples of fluorine compounds having such a decomposition temperature include organic fluorine compounds such as the aforementioned PTFE, but needless to say, the present invention is not limited to these. Polytrifluorochloroethylene is also possible. Methods for attaching fluorine compounds to the wire surface include placing the wire in a fluorine atmosphere in normal processes, but the simplest method is to attach the fluorine compound to the surface of the wire using a diluent or dispersant (e.g., trichlorotrichloride). There is a method of diluting or dispersing the resin with an organic solvent for fluororesin such as fluoroethane, and passing a wire through the diluted or dispersed powder or liquid. In this case, the following points should be noted. First, after the diluted fluorine compound is deposited, the fluorine compound is concentrated in the recesses on the wire surface, so if the wire surface phase is too large, unevenness tends to occur, making it difficult to stably deposit a constant amount. It becomes difficult. Furthermore, it not only spoils the appearance of the wire, but also results in excessive wire feeding resistance during actual welding.
The arc stability deteriorates, and not only are pits and blowholes likely to occur in the welded area, but in severe cases, the wire may buckle, making it impossible to continue welding. In this way, an appropriate amount of fluorine is generated during firing. In order to exhibit the fluorine effect more effectively, the embodiments described below are preferred. First, the method of attaching a fluorine compound to the wire surface is as follows:
It is possible to attach it to the entire surface of the wire or to attach it partially, but if it is attached to the entire surface of the wire in the former case, there is a risk of impairing the electrical conductivity, so the latter method in which it is attached partially is considered. It is preferable. In this case, the fluorine compound can be attached using the recesses on the surface, and there is no risk of impairing electrical conductivity. As a result of experiments conducted by the present inventor, the relationship between the ratio of fluorine compounds on the wire surface and current conductivity and feedability was found.
It has been found that the area ratio AF of the fluorine compound to the total surface area per meter of wire is preferably in the range of 0.1 to 70%. When AF is less than 0.1%, although the current conductivity is good, the effect of adhering the fluorine compound is not observed, and the feeding performance is poor. On the other hand, if A exceeds 70%, current conductivity deteriorates and it becomes difficult to sustain the arc during welding. It has also been found that when a fluorine compound is deposited using the recesses on the wire surface, it is more effective to actively control the distribution of the recesses so that the fluorine compound is uniformly deposited in the form of islands. From this point of view, the inventor conducted an investigation to find an appropriate range of wire surface roughness, and found that both the surface roughness in the circumferential direction of the wire and the surface roughness in the longitudinal direction of the wire were 15μ■
Hereinafter, it has been found that it is possible to relatively uniformly and stably adhere an amount of fluorine in the above range to the wire surface if the amount of fluorine is more preferably 10 μm or less. In addition, especially on the high concentration side of the above range of fluorine, an effect may be observed even if the wire surface roughness is, for example, about 0.05 μm, but it tends to cause unevenness after adhesion, which is a problem in terms of stability. Therefore, it is desirable to set the thickness to about 0.10μ or more. In addition, the surface roughness here refers to the maximum surface roughness (II or depth) R(, +ax (μm) when measuring the surface roughness in the circumferential direction, in the case of surface roughness in the wire circumferential direction. and
In the case of surface roughness in the longitudinal direction of the wire, each maximum surface roughness R when measuring the surface roughness (width or depth) in the longitudinal direction
L++ax (μ resistance). By uniformly distributing the fluorine compound in an island shape on the wire surface, the same effect can be expected regardless of the hardness and type of wire. Especially for wires that are highly sensitive to hydrogen. In the case of aluminum welding wire, the -layer effect is remarkable. The present invention is not limited by the welding method, and can be applied not only to TIG and MIG wires, which are the most commonly used wires, but also to flux-cored wires. Of course, the base material can also be made of various ferrous and non-ferrous materials. (Examples) Next, examples of the present invention will be shown. The number of blowholes in the weld metal was investigated by welding using a wire with a certain amount of PTFE under the following welding conditions. In addition, PTFE was used as the fluorine compound, and the wire was passed through a diluted liquid to coat the surface of the wire with the fluorine compound. The amount of fluorine was determined by the analysis value (n
=5) is the average value. The results are also listed in the same table. Welding conditions> Welding method: MIG Base material Nialuminum material A3083-0 Wire used:
Aluminum wire A3183WY, 1.2mmφ Current, etc.: 225A-28~29V-50cpm Shielding gas: Argon, flow rate 3011/win The number of blowholes was measured by xa and stm, and all blowholes below 0°4■ were also counted. . Table 1 shows that when no fluorine compound is attached to the wire surface or when the amount of attached fluorine compound is small, the number of blowholes is large, and conversely, when there is a large number of fluorine compounds, although the number of blowholes is reduced, the bead appearance deteriorates. However, when the amount was even higher, the arc became unstable. On the other hand, all of the examples of the present invention having an appropriate amount of fluorine have a small number of blowholes in the weld metal, and the bead appearance and
Arc stability is also excellent.

As shown in Table 2, the inventive example in which the fluorine compound adhesion area A on the wire surface is within the appropriate range has good current conductivity and feedability, while the comparative example has good current conductivity and feedability. At least one of them is inferior. [Left below] Wires with various wire surface roughnesses shown in Table 3 were coated with fluorine compounds in various amounts in terms of fluorine, and
Welding was performed under the following welding conditions, and the number of blowholes in the weld metal, electrical conductivity, and feedability were investigated. Note that PTFE was used as the fluorine compound, and a wire was passed through a liquid diluted with PTFE, and the fluorine compound was applied to the surface of the wire. The amount of fluorine was measured in the same manner as in Example 1. The results are also listed in the same table. <Welding conditions> Welding method: MIG Base material Nialuminum material A3083 Wire used: Aluminum wire A3183WY, 1.
2 mmφ Current, etc.: 150 A-25 V-30 cpm shield gas Niargon, flow rate 30 Q/min The number of blowholes in the weld metal was measured in the same manner as in the example work. In addition, the surface roughness in the circumferential direction of the wire was measured at 10 arbitrary locations on the wire surface using the measuring instrument "RONCOM IDJ" by Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. and the probe used (made of diamond, contact tip radius 3 μm). , each maximum surface roughness (Fuku or depth) RC when measuring the surface roughness in the circumferential direction for one circumference
It was defined as mas (μm). On the other hand, the surface roughness in the longitudinal direction of the wire was measured using a measuring instrument rsURFcOM-30MJ manufactured by Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. and a probe (made of diamond, contact tip radius 3μ+i) at arbitrary 10 points in the longitudinal direction of the wire. When the longitudinal surface roughness (width or depth) was measured over a 10-length length, the maximum surface roughness RLmas (μm) was determined. From Table 3, the present invention examples In both cases, it can be seen that the number of blowholes in the weld metal is small, and both the current conductivity and feedability are excellent. On the other hand, when the amount of fluorine on the wire surface is small, even if the wire surface roughness is However, when the amount of fluorine on the wire surface is large, the number of blowholes in the weld metal decreases, and the feedability deteriorates. Although the performance is good, the conductivity has deteriorated. [Additional notes below] (Effects of the invention) As detailed above, according to the present invention, an appropriate amount of a fluorine compound with a low decomposition temperature is applied to the wire surface. Therefore, the amount of hydrogen in the wire can be reduced, and blow holes in the weld metal can be reduced.
Bits, etc. can be stably reduced. It can be applied to various types of welding wires, and its effects are particularly noticeable when applied to aluminum welding wires, which have had problems in the past.
