The present invention relates to an acrylic resin composition that has light diffusivity and high whiteness. Methyl methacrylate polymer is used in plate-shaped products such as signboards and displays, as well as lighting covers. In this case, it may be processed from a milky translucent plate-like body, or it may be directly formed into a desired shape from a molding material resin that provides the above-mentioned color tone and then used. When using the above-mentioned material as a lighting cover, there are several performance requirements, and among them, whiteness in the color tone of the surface is important. An inorganic light diffusing agent is used to obtain a milky translucent acrylic resin, but even in this case it has been difficult to obtain a product with a stable white surface color. The present inventor completed the present invention as a result of studies aimed at obtaining a milky translucent acrylic resin composition having a high degree of whiteness in surface color and suitable for lighting applications. That is, the present invention provides methyl methacrylate polymer
This is an acrylic resin composition consisting of 100 parts and 2 to 6 parts of precipitated barium sulfate particles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 30 μm and a pH of 5.5 to 7.5. The precipitated barium sulfate of the present invention can be prepared by a method generally used industrially ("Chemistry Dictionary" 9 No. 727-
728 pages, published by Kyoritsu Shuppan Co., Ltd. on September 15, 1972), and is usually obtained by adding a sodium sulfate solution to a solution of barium sulfide obtained by reduction roasting of barite to precipitate it. It refers to substances manufactured and used in paints, pigments, etc. whose pH is 5.5 to 5.5.
Must be in the range of 7.5. The PH of precipitated barium sulfate particles in the present invention refers to the supernatant obtained after 10 g of precipitated barium sulfate particles are placed in 200 c.c. of ion-exchanged water, sufficiently stirred, and left to stand to allow the particles to settle. This is the pH of the liquid. If the PH value measured in this way is less than 5.5, the resulting milky white translucent acrylic plate has a low whiteness on the surface and is slightly yellowish;
If the value exceeds 7.5, it will have an adverse effect on the auxiliary additive components, making it impossible to achieve the purpose of the present invention. The average particle diameter of the particles of precipitated barium sulfate used in the present invention is preferably 1 to 30 μm; if it exceeds 30 μm, the transmission loss of light rays is large, and if it is less than 1 μm, a sufficient light diffusion effect cannot be obtained. The ratio of the above particles used is preferably 2 parts to 6 parts per 100 parts of the methyl methacrylate polymer, and if it is less than 2 parts, a milky white translucent plate obtained from the obtained acrylic resin composition is used. This is not preferred because it does not have a sufficient light diffusion effect and leaves a lamp image. Moreover, when the amount exceeds 6 parts, the transmission loss of light rays increases. The plate-shaped bodies or molded articles obtained from the acrylic resin composition of the present invention not only exhibit suitable performance in lighting applications, but also have high surface whiteness, making it possible to provide extremely beautiful products. Embodiments of the present invention will be explained in detail with reference to Examples below. Examples 1-2, Comparative Examples 1-3 100 parts of Parapet EH (trade name of acrylic resin molding material manufactured by Kyowa Gas Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.) and various PH

A plate with a thickness of 2 mm was made using an extruder of 100 Kg/hr at 120 rpm, and its yellowness (YI value) was calculated according to JIS K7103. The various numerical values used for calculation were measured according to JIS Z8727 and displayed according to JIS Z8728.

[Table] The compositions obtained in the examples of the present invention had low yellowness in both transmission and reflection, and had desirable properties as a lighting cover. Comparative Examples 4-5 Resin plates were made in the same manner as in Examples 1-2, except that calcium carbonate or feldspar was used as the inorganic fine particles instead of precipitated barium sulfate, and the yellowness (YI value) was determined. are shown in the table.
