させてキヤリジ及びこれに乗せられた印字ヘツド
を進退させる機構であつて、前記印字ヘツドを前
進させてプラテンに装着された任意厚さの用紙に
当接させてから一定の距離だけ後退させることに
より、前記印字ヘツドと前記用紙との間を一定の
間隔を保つようにした印字装置において、前記パ
ルスモータの回転を前記キヤリジ偏心軸に伝達す
る回転伝達機構に摩擦クラツチを組込み、この摩
擦クラツチの摩擦トルクを調整できる機構を備え
たことを特徴とするプリンタの自動紙厚調整機構
。 (2) 前記キヤリジ偏心軸の後退を制限するスト
ツパを設け、前記印字ヘツドを前記用紙に当接さ
せる前に、前記パルスモータを前記ストツパによ
り前記キヤリジ偏心軸が停止した後も駆動させる

前記摩擦クラツチのなじみ運転を行つてから、印
字ヘツドをプラテン軸方向に当接させ零位置検出
