- 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 所定の文字領域を光の透過状態と非透過状態と
に切り換え可能な液晶パネル１と、 該液晶パネルの裏面側に配設され、該液晶パネ
ルの文字領域と対応する箇所に複数個の発光ダオ
ードを配列してなる発光ダイオードアレイ２と、 前記液晶パネル及び前記発光ダイオードアレイ
を駆動する駆動手段３と、 周囲の明るさを光電変換素子４ａで検出して、
所定の明るさ以上の時に前記発光ダイオードアレ
イを所定の輝度以下に切り換え、それ以外の時は
前記発光ダイオードアレイを通常の輝度に切り換
えるスイツチング手段４とを備えたことを特徴と
する表示装置。
