Although these cutting devices do not cause any problems when cutting continuous long veneers in the form of a band, they do cause problems when cutting bulk veneers produced at the initial stage of turning raw wood whose outer circumferential surface is irregularly shaped. After cutting the leading edge of a particularly short piece of veneer, the broken, irregularly shaped scrap veneer clings to a rotating knife, lifts it up, and then falls, overlapping the subsequent product veneer in various configurations and bending it greatly. It may become impossible to feed the veneer in the next stage of the process, or it may interfere with normal veneer processing.

したことを特徴としている。 In order to eliminate these obstacles, there is a method to remove the waste veneer by injecting compressed air near the cutting blade, as shown in Japanese Patent Publication No. 53-10707 and Utility Model Publication No. 48-33113, but depending on the volume of the waste veneer, is not easily blown away,
However, large-capacity air injection is extremely uneconomical. The present invention eliminates the above-mentioned obstacles by using a simple device, and includes a swinging arm that rotates integrally with the cutting tool in front of the cutting tool in the rotational direction, and a swing arm that rotates integrally with the cutting tool in advance of the cutting tool. It is characterized in that a tension spring is stretched between the arms so that the tip of the arm can move in and out of the rotation locus drawn by the cutting edge of the cutter.

As shown in the figure, the cutter body 13 is provided with symmetrical vertical surfaces extending in the axial direction above and below the center of rotation.
It forms the mounting surface of the The cutter 11 is slightly longer than the width of the veneer to be transported and is disposed perpendicular to the veneer transport direction, and when it reaches a vertical state by rotating in the direction of arrow C, its cutting edge touches or slightly touches the outer peripheral surface of the anvil roll 5. The cutter body 13 tightly holds the cutter body 13 with the cutting edge line aligned to the extent that the cutter body 13 bites.

回転軌跡Qより内側寄りに移動することになる。 Reference numeral 25 is a spring that is tensioned between the end of the swinging arm and the cutter body 13. Therefore, in this state, like the swinging arm 21 above, the outer periphery of the tip roller 22 is pulled by the tension of the spring 25. is rotated in the direction of arrow C together with the cutter body 13 near the cutting edge of the cutter 11 and slightly protruding from the rotation locus Q drawn by the cutting edge.
Furthermore, when the tip of the swinging arm 21 swings toward the cutter 11 side against the spring 25, it moves inward from the rotation trajectory Q, like the bottom roller 22' of the swinging arm 21' disposed on the lower side of the figure. It turns out.

ことになる。 To explain the embodiment of the present invention with the above configuration, at the time of starting, the rotary cutter 10 has two blades 1
1 is stopped and waiting in a horizontal position forward and backward.
Next, the veneer is conveyed in the direction of arrow A by the conveyor 1, and when the cutting position of the veneer reaches near the vertical center line position of the anvil roll 5, a cutting signal is output from a known veneer detector and the rotary cutter 10 is activated. Rotate in direction C. Swinging arm 2 as the rotary cutter rotates
2 and 22' rotate as one unit, and when the arm approaches a vertical state, the lower end of the arm comes into contact with the surface of the veneer being transferred on the anvil roll 5, and the rotation trajectory of the cutter 11 changes. It will swing inward from Q.

Finish cutting the veneer when it is vertical. In addition, the cut irregularly shaped waste veneer on the front side of the cutter does not cling to the cutter, but is held down by the tip of the swinging arm for a predetermined distance, gradually separating from the cutter and being transferred to the next stage delivery conveyor 31. .

ある。 On the other hand, the swinging arm 21 continues to rotate together with the cutter 11, etc., and the tip of the arm gradually separates from the pressed veneer, and swings in the direction of arrow D under the tension of the spring 25, following the rotational trajectory of the cutter. The rotary cutter 10 returns to a state slightly protruding from Q and continues to rotate, and stops when it reaches the initial standby position in preparation for the next cutting.
The same operation is repeated each time the motor rotates in the direction of arrow C.

In some cases, it is a virtually maintenance-free device that requires only the replacement of the spring, reducing maintenance costs.Furthermore, operation can be resumed after a 5-minute interruption in spring replacement, resulting in various effects such as improved operating efficiency. It can be done.
