状態を示す略図、第５図は第４図の状態からステ
アリングホイールを回転させた状態を示す図であ
る。 １……ステアリングホイール、２……保護装置
本体、１３……水銀センサ、１３ａ……水銀粒、
１３ｂ……ハウジング、１３ｃ……絶縁部材、１
３ｄ……電極。

Claims (1)

  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 １ 車両のステアリングホイールに配置される衝
    突検知センサを備えた車両用乗員保護装置におい
    て、前記衝突検知センサは、導電性の重りを収納
    した導電性部材から成るハウジングと、絶縁部材
    を介して前記ハウジング内に配置された電極とを
    備え、前記電極を前記ハウジングの中心軸上に沿
    つて配置すると共に、前記ハウジングをその中心
    軸がステアリングシヤフトの軸線に略平行になる
    ようにステアリングホイールに装着して成り、車
    両に所定値以上の加速度が加わつた際に前記重り
    が移動して前記ハウジングと前記電極間を電気的
    に導通するようにしたことを特徴とする車両用乗
    員保護装置。 ２ 前記重りは水銀から成る請求項１記載の車両
    用乗員保護装置。
