Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the double refraction and to improve the durability, heat resistance, moisture proof, size accuracy, etc., by forming the photoconducting lens array of a specific cyclic olefin random copolymer or cyclic olefin open ring polymer. CONSTITUTION:Plural photoconducting lens systems 7 which have object-side lens parts 2 where light is made incident, image-side lens parts 3, 1st reflecting surfaces 4 which reflect the light totally, roof surfaces 5 which invert images formed with reflected light, and 2nd reflecting surfaces 6 which guide reflected light from the roof surfaces 5 to the image-side lens parts are arrayed. Each photoconducting lens system is formed of the cyclic olefin random copolyer which has 0.05 - 10 dl/g limit viscosity measured in decalin of 135 deg.C and consists of a copolymer of cyclic olefin and ethylene shown by a formula I, or the open ring polymer of cyclic olefin. In the formula I, (n) is 0 or 1, (m) is 0 or a positive integer, and R<1> - R<18> are atoms or radicals selected in a group of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, and a hydrocarbon radical. Consequently, the double refraction is made small and the durability, heat resistance, moisture proof, size accuracy, etc., are improved.

However, light guide lens arrays made from polymethyl methacrylate have low durability, heat resistance, and moisture resistance, those made from polycarbonate have high birefringence and low moisture resistance, and those made from polystyrene have low moisture resistance. Problems include high birefringence and low heat resistance. Furthermore, when poly-4-methyl-1-pentene is used as a material for the light guiding lens array, there is a problem that precision molding is difficult because poly-4-methyl-1-pentene has large molding shrinkage.

3 and 4 are plan views of light guide lens arrays of different embodiments, respectively. The object-side lens section 2 and the image-side lens section 3 of the light guiding lens array 1 shown in FIG. 1 are arranged so that adjacent lenses are in contact with each other, that is, the diameter of the lens and the arrangement interval between the lenses are the same. In FIG. 3, the distance between the adjacent lens parts 2.3 is 10, that is, the arrangement interval of the lens parts 2.3 is set so that the distance between the adjacent lens parts 2.3 is 10.
They are arranged so that the diameter is larger than 3. In such a light guiding lens array 1, since optical interference between adjacent lenses is prevented, a good real image 9 can be obtained. Further, in FIG. 4, adjacent lens portions 2.3 are arranged so as to overlap, that is, the distance between the lens portions 2.3 is smaller than the diameter of the lens portions 2.3. In such a light guiding lens array 1, it is possible to reduce light scattering unevenness.

In this light guiding lens array 1, the object side lens section 2
The image-side lens section 3 is arranged such that their optical axes are shifted from each other, and the roof surface 5 is provided at a central position between the optical axes of the object-side lens section 2 and the image-side lens section 3. In such a light guide lens array 1, most of the light incident from the object-side lens section 2 is reflected at the center of the roof surface 5, and is prevented from passing through the apex portion of the roof surface 5. So,
Even if the manufacturing accuracy of the apex portion of the roof surface 5 is rough, a good real image 9 can be obtained. Furthermore, since optical interference between adjacent light guide lens systems 7 is reduced, a good real image 9 can be obtained.

FIG. 6(a) is a plan view of a light guiding lens array according to yet another embodiment, and FIG. 6(b) is a front view. In this light guide lens array 1, in the central part of the light guide lens system 7 arranged in parallel, an object side lens section 2 and an image side lens section 3 are arranged.
are arranged so that their optical axes coincide with each other, but their optical axes are arranged to be shifted from each other in their outer parts. When such a light guide lens array 1 is used, for example, in an optical reading device, the document 11 located on the object side lens section 2 can be read using the three sensors 12a, 12b, and 12c, so a small sensor is used. 12a, 12b+ 1
2c allows the document 11 to be read continuously. Also, a large original 11 can be read. Although the light guiding lens array 1 shown in FIG. 6 has a combination of an arrangement where the optical axes match and an arrangement where the optical axes are shifted, it is also possible to combine only the arrangement where the optical axes are shifted.

A copolymerization reaction with TCD-3 (abbreviated as TCD-3 below) was carried out in the following manner. A cyclohexane solution containing TCD-3 was poured from the top of the polymerization vessel until the TCD-3 concentration in the polymerization vessel was 60 g/Q. Similarly, a cyclohexane solution of VO(QC2H5)CQ2 was used as a catalyst, and the vanadium concentration in the polymerization vessel was 0.
.. A cyclohexane solution of ethyl aluminum sesquichloride (AQ(C2H5)2.5CQ, S) was added to each polymerization vessel so that the aluminum concentration in the polymerization vessel was 4.8 mmol/Q. On the other hand, from the bottom of the polymerization vessel, the polymerization liquid in the polymerization vessel is
The sample was extracted continuously so that the average residence time was 0.5 hours. In addition, ethylene is supplied from the top of the polymerization vessel at a rate of 30% per hour.
Q. Hydrogen was supplied at a rate of 0.5 t/hr and nitrogen at a rate of 10 t2/hr. The copolymerization reaction was carried out at 10° C. by circulating a refrigerant through a jacket attached to the outside of the polymerization vessel.

A copolymerization reaction was carried out under the above reaction conditions to obtain a polymerization reaction mixture containing an ethylene/TCD-3 random copolymer. The copolymerization reaction was stopped by adding a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to the polymerization solution drained from the bottom of the polymerization vessel.

Next, the polymerization solution was poured into a household mixer containing about three times as much acetone as the polymerization solution while rotating the mixer to precipitate the produced copolymer. The precipitated copolymer was collected by filtration, dispersed in acetone to a polymer concentration of about 50 g/12, and treated at the boiling point of acetone for about 2 hours. After the treatment, the copolymer was collected by filtration and dried under reduced pressure at 120°C for 24 hours.
