[Detailed description of the invention] (Field of industrial application) This invention relates to an improvement of the insulating plate installed between the electrode plate group and the strap of a lead-acid battery, and prevents short circuits of the electrode plates and splashes from the electrolyte. This is what I am trying to do.

(Prior Art) Conventionally, this type of insulating plate has a comb-shaped cross section with electrode plate lug insertion holes provided at desired intervals.

However, by inserting each electrode plate lug into the insertion hole from one side and placing it on the upper surface of the electrode group, an insulating plate and an electrolyte droplet to prevent a short circuit between the plate and the strap are removed. When using the insulating plate as a splash-proof plate to prevent splashes, the insulating plate can achieve its purpose and close the gap with the strap to prevent short circuits. Since comb-like voids are formed on the top surface, a splash-proofing effect cannot be obtained as is, and a separate splash-proof plate must be prepared to close the voids.

In addition, in order to integrate the insulating plate and the splash-proof plate, a splash-proof plate with a comb-shaped protrusion having an electrode plate lug insertion hole at the tip thereof is used, and the electrode plate is inserted into the insertion hole. When inserting an ear and trying to maintain insulation between the electrode group and the strap, the splash-proof plate can achieve its purpose and prevent splashes from the electrolyte, but it also protects the electrode group and the strap. Since a comb-shaped gap is formed between the two, it is difficult to insulate the two, and there is a risk of a short circuit.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) As a result of intensive research in view of the current situation, the present invention consists of an insulating plate provided with a hole for inserting a plate lug into which only a plate lug can be inserted. Therefore, when the insulating plate is placed on the top surface of the electrode plate group, since no voids are formed in the parts other than the electrode plate ears, it can sufficiently serve as both an insulating plate and a splash-proof plate. .

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention provides an insulating plate for a lead-acid battery that is located between the electrode plate group and the strap of the lead-acid battery and placed on the electrode plate group. The plate has a number of slits for introducing the plate lugs corresponding to the number of electrode plates and plate lugs insertion holes connected to the slits, and the plate lugs are introduced from both side edges of the slits for introducing the plate lugs. The present invention is characterized in that an insulating plate provided with a thin fin that closes the gap of the slit is placed on the electrode plate group with the slit side of the insulating plate.

(Function) In order to easily insert the electrode plate lug into the electrode plate lug insertion hole through the electrode plate lug introduction slit, it is necessary to widen the introduction path of the slit. Both side edges of the electrode plate have thin fins, and the fins are easily bent when the electrode tabs come into contact with the slits. Furthermore, the fin can be restored immediately after the electrode plate lug passes through the slit and enters the electrode plate lug insertion hole.

(Embodiment) As shown in FIG. 1, straps are attached to the ears 2 of the anode plates of an electrode plate group in which a plurality of anode plates 1 and cathode plates 1' are alternately laminated with separators 1'' in between. The pole post 3 is welded to the strap, and the strap is located between the pole plate group and the strap and is provided on the ear part 2 of the anode plate 1 of the electrode plate group, and the cathode plate is welded to the strap from below. In the insulating plate 4 to be placed on the electrode plate group extending up to the vicinity of the ear part 1', ear slits 5, 5' for introducing the electrode plate ear are formed in the 1.5 mm thick polyvinyl chloride plate as shown in Fig. 2. , 5'' and plate lug insertion holes 6, 6', 6'' connected thereto are arranged in parallel, and slits 5, 5', 6'' for introducing the plate lug from both side edges of the slits.
Thin (0.5mm thick) to close the 5″ gap
The insulating plate 4 of the present invention is obtained by forming fins 7, 7', 7'' of the fins 7, 7', 7''.
Although the electrode plate lug 2 is inserted into the electrode plate lug insertion hole 6, the gap of the electrode plate lug introduction slit 5 is closed by the fin 7.

Further, in the above embodiment, the fins 7, 7', 7'' were provided horizontally in a straight line on the slit portion 5, but when formed in this way, the electrode plate lugs 2 are provided on the slit portion 5.
When the electrode plate lug 2 is inserted into the electrode plate lug insertion hole 6 by making contact with the fins 7, 7', 7'', the fins 7, 7', 7'' do not always curve in a fixed direction such as upward or downward.
For example, if the slit is bent downward, it will come into contact with the separator, etc., making it difficult to insert and insert the work smoothly, significantly reducing work efficiency, and preventing the slit from returning to its closed state, allowing acid mist to escape from the gap. Since the effectiveness as a splash-proof plate will be significantly reduced, it is recommended that the fins 7, 7', 7'' always be bent upward during the insertion process, or that the fins that are bent downward should be raised up. Therefore, it is desirable that the fin part is always bent upward, and therefore it is preferable to provide a taper 8 by tilting the fin at the tip of the slit upward as shown in Fig. 3. Accordingly, when the electrode plate lug 2 is inserted, the contact angle between the electrode plate lug 2 and the fin 7 becomes smaller than 90°, so that the fin always bends upward.

(Effects) The insulating plate of the present invention can serve both as an insulating plate that can prevent short circuits occurring between the electrode plate group and the strap, and as a splash-proof plate that can prevent splashes such as mist from the electrolyte. have an effect.
