The development of a power transmission shaft using a molded body made of FRP (RP) is progressing, but in this case, it is necessary to connect a metal yoke to both ends of the FRP pipe, and various methods have been used for this connection. Efforts have been made. For example, the joint part of an FRP pipe and a yoke may have a circular cross section, an elliptical cross section, or a polygonal cross section that can fit together,
There is a method of adhesively bonding the RP vibrator after it has been molded and cured, a method of press-fitting the same, and a method of incorporating the yoke itself or a part of it into a mandrel and winding it up during filament winding to form the FRP vibrator. Yes, each has its advantages and disadvantages.

By the way, in the case of a power transmission shaft obtained by joining a metal yoke to an FRP vibrator, the joint between the FRP pipe and the yoke does not suffer from fatigue damage due to repeated application of driving force or braking force. However, there is a problem in that it is easy to cause delamination between the FRP layers and peeling of the adhesive layer.

In order to deal with this problem, it is necessary to firmly bond the joint between the pipe and the yoke.
As disclosed in Publication No. 0919, after inserting the pipe end into the groove formed in the yoke, adhesive is injected into the joint between the two through the injection hole formed on the outer periphery of the yoke. Methods for obtaining a power transmission shaft have been proposed.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) On the other hand, the ideal thickness of the adhesive layer when performing adhesive bonding is 5.
It is said to be about 0 to 100 μm, and this is the joint # of the power transmission shaft of the known example (i.e., the joint between the pipe and the yoke).
If you try to apply it to the gap, even if you improve the machining accuracy and obtain an appropriate gap, it will be difficult to fill the gap with adhesive sufficiently, making it difficult to obtain a strong bond. be.

Therefore, the yoke is inserted into the end of the FRP vibrator, a relatively large gap (for example, several hundred μm) is formed at the joint between the two, and adhesive is injected into the gap from the injection hole formed in the FRP pipe. Therefore, a method can be considered to ensure that the adhesive is sufficiently filled into the joint, but in this case, the problem is that the FRP pipe is a difficult-to-cut material and the reinforcing fibers are cut. The following problems may occur. In other words, the cutting edge of the drill for cutting is severely worn and productivity is poor, the cutting surface is easily rough and difficult to deburr, causing adhesive leakage, and stress concentration at the injection hole causes fatigue. Problems such as a reduction in service life may occur. Incidentally, as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 55-90433, an FRP vibrator in which the area around the hole formed in the vibrator is reinforced with a fiber reinforcing material has also been proposed, but this known example Technology cannot adequately deal with the above-mentioned problems.

(Means for solving the problem) In the present invention, as a means for solving the above problem,
When manufacturing a power transmission shaft by joining a yoke to a pipe made of fiber-reinforced plastic, a filament winding method is applied to a mandrel in which a through hole is formed at a portion corresponding to the joint of the pipe with the yoke. A filament winding layer is formed by winding a resin-impregnated filament, and before the filament winding layer is cured, a pin member having an edge shape at the tip and having a passage inside and made of a brittle material is passed through the filament winding layer. The filament winding layer is hardened in this state, and then the tip of the pin member is cut at the inner circumference of the pipe by the shearing force generated when removing the pipe from the mandrel. After that, the fitting part of the yoke is inserted into the end of the pipe, and adhesive is injected into the joint between the two via the passage part of the pin member.

(Effects of the Invention) According to the present invention, when manufacturing a power transmission shaft by joining a yoke to a pipe made of fiber-reinforced plastic, a through hole is formed in a portion of the pipe corresponding to the joint with the yoke. A filament winding layer is formed by winding a resin-impregnated filament around the formed mandrel using a filament winding method, and before the filament winding layer hardens, a passage portion is plastered inside with an edge shape and a brittle material is formed. A pin member made of the above is inserted into the through hole through the filament winding layer, the filament winding layer is hardened in this state, and then the tip of the pin member is pushed into the pipe by the shearing force when removing the pipe from the mandrel. A fiber-reinforced plastic pipe is manufactured by cutting at the circumferential position, and then the fitting part of the yoke is inserted into the end of the pipe, and adhesive is applied to the joint between the two through the passage part of the pin member. Since the adhesive is injected into the joint between the FRP pipe and the yoke, the injection hole that is formed to inject the adhesive into the joint between the FRP pipe and the yoke is inserted during the molding of the FRP pipe (i.e., before the filament winding layer hardens). This is formed by the passage of the pin member inserted into the filament winding layer, and has the excellent effect that the adhesive injection passage can be secured by extremely simple means without cutting the reinforcing fibers.

Further, since the adhesive can be injected through the passage portion of the pin member, there is also an effect that leakage prevention and sealing performance can be easily ensured when the adhesive is injected.

First, a filament winding layer 1' is formed by winding the resin-impregnated filament 13 around the mandrel 11 having the above-described structure by the filament winding method described above (see FIG. 1). Then, before the filament winding layer 1' is hardened, a pin member 3 having an edge shape at the tip and having a passage portion 4 inside and made of a brittle material is inserted into the through hole 16 through the filament winding layer. By curing the filament winding layer 1', an FRP pipe 1 is formed. The material of this pin member 3 is preferably one with low plastic deformability, such as resin or light alloy.
