By doing so, there is a structure in which a large number of recorded recording media 4 of 500 or more sheets are stacked at one time. However, in such a configuration, in the initial stage of stacking, there is a large drop between the paper ejection position and the bottom 38, so the recording medium 4 falls, for example, in the direction of arrow A, as shown in FIG. 10, causing positional deviation. As a result, all the recording media 5 could not be stacked in an orderly manner, resulting in a problem of so-called poor alignment.

There is also a structure in which the bottom plate 5 is guided by a guide 9 provided on the paper discharge frame 1 so that it can be raised and lowered in the vertical direction (see Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 2-31262). Furthermore, as a third type, although not shown, there is a configuration in which a sensor detects the uppermost recording medium and a motor is driven based on the detection to lower the bottom plate.

By lowering the bottom plate 5 according to the loading amount and always keeping the distance Ω constant, it was possible to stack all the recording media in an orderly manner, thereby maintaining good alignment.
