In the freezer configured as described above, during cooling, cold air warmed in the freezer compartment 6 is sucked into the heat exchange chamber 5 from the suction port 17 by driving the cold air circulation fan 9 and cooled by the cooler 8. The cold air is then circulated by forced convection that blows out the cold air from the air outlet 18 into the freezer compartment 6. Furthermore, during defrosting, by operating the defrosting glass tube heater 11, the heat generated from the glass tube heater 11 melts the frost adhering to the cooler 8 and turns it into water droplets. Some of the water droplets from the melted frost fall directly onto the dew pan 13 from the cooler 8 and are stored there, while others fall onto the protective cover 12 and are then stored in the dew pan 13. Furthermore, due to the temperature difference between the heat exchange chamber 5 and the freezing chamber 6, dew formation occurs on the inner surface of the circumferential wall of the heat exchange chamber 5, and when a large amount of dew forms, it becomes water droplets, which run down the inner surface of the circumferential wall and fall into the dew pan. It is housed in 13. The drain water contained in the drain tray 13 is led to the evaporation tray 15 through the drain pipe 14 and is evaporated by the heat of the compressor 16. When the water droplets falling from the cooler 8 hit the glass tube heater 11, which is at high temperature during defrosting, the protective cover 12 makes a noise and evaporates.
Water droplets are prevented from hitting the cooler 8.

However, in the above-mentioned conventional cooler defrosting device, the protective cover 12 blocks the heat of the glass tube heater 11 during defrosting, taking time to defrost, and also impairs the flow of cold air during cooling, reducing cooling efficiency. There was a problem with lowering it.

In this invention, a window hole is provided in the protective cover of the glass tube heater for defrosting, so that during defrosting, the heat of the glass tube heater is transmitted to the cooler through the window hole without bypassing the protective cover. The frost time is shortened, and when cooling, cold air passes through the window holes, making forced circulation smoother, improving cooling efficiency. In addition, since the window holes have a roof, the cooler can be used during defrosting. Water droplets falling from the glass tube heater can be prevented from hitting the glass tube heater, and the original function of the protective cover will not be degraded.

The upper wall 12f that covers the window holes 12c of the protective cover 12a with a space therebetween is the protective cover main body 12.
The upper wall 12f of the roof 12e is integrally formed with downwardly inclined inclined walls 12g on both sides, and the legs 12h protruding downward from both ends of the upper wall 12f of the roof 12e are arranged directly above the protective cover 12a. wall 12b
The support is fixed on the top. The width of the roof 12e is narrower than the width of the protective cover 12a.
Note that the configuration of this embodiment other than the above is the same as that shown in FIGS. 6 to 9, and
The same reference numerals as in FIGS. 6 to 9 in FIGS. 6 to 3 indicate the same or corresponding parts.

In the embodiment configured as described above, during defrosting, the frost adhering to the cooler 8 is melted by the heat generated from the defrosting glass tube heater 11, and falls as water droplets. . The fallen water droplets are received by the roof 12e of the protective cover 12, the inclined wall 12d of the protective cover main body 12a, etc., are stored in the dew pan 13, and are led to the evaporation pan 15 outside the refrigerator through the drain pipe 14. Therefore, the protective cover 12 can prevent water droplets falling from the cooler 8 from hitting the glass tube heater 11. Moreover, since the window hole 12c is formed in the protective cover 12a,
During defrosting, the heat from the glass tube heater 11 is transmitted to the cooler 8 through the window hole 12c, which makes it easier to transmit the heat to the cooler 8, which shortens the defrosting time.
During cooling, the cold air sucked from the suction port 17 is guided to the cooler 8 through the window hole 12c, so that the cold air flows smoothly to the cooler 8, improving cooling efficiency.

Roofs 12e are respectively formed to cover the tops of 2c, and the slopes of the roofs 12e are formed to be gentler than the slopes of the both side slopes 12i. The configuration of this embodiment other than the above is the same as the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, and the same reference numerals as in FIGS. 1 to 3 in FIGS. 4 and 5 are used. indicate the same or equivalent part.

As explained above, according to this invention, the protective cover placed between the cooler and the defrosting glass tube heater is provided with a window hole and a roof covering the window hole, thereby shortening the defrosting time. It can improve cooling efficiency,
Therefore, it helps to reduce power consumption, and by shortening the defrosting time, it suppresses the rise in temperature inside the refrigerator during defrosting.
This has the effect of suppressing the temperature rise of food.
