A so-called cage-type sealed lead-acid battery has been developed, which is impregnated with dilute sulfuric acid.

いる。 In this type of sealed lead-acid battery, oxygen gas generated at the anode plate is reduced to water at the three-phase interface between lead on the cathode plate and the electrolyte, as shown in the following equation.

ことになる。 2Pb+O 2 +2H 2 SO 4 →2PbSO 4 +2H 2 O In other words, when overcharged, the oxygen gas generated from the anode plate is absorbed by the cathode plate, and the resulting lead sulfate (PbSO 4 ) is reduced at the cathode plate. As a result, hydrogen gas is no longer generated and it can be sealed.

反応が起こり易いといわれている。 Comparing the retainer type and gel type in terms of gas absorption, in the gel type, water in the electrolyte is decomposed to some extent due to overcharging, and a sufficient gas absorption reaction occurs only after the releasing liquid existing between the anode and cathode plates decreases. However, in the retainer type, oxygen gas reaches the cathode plate more easily than in the gel type, so gas absorption reactions are said to occur more easily.

In the case of 0.5 CA or more, the gas absorption was about 20%, and it could not be said that the gas absorption was sufficient.

Since the anode plate 1 is covered by the cathode plate 2, oxygen gas generated from the anode plate during overcharging can reach the cathode plate more easily, thereby improving gas absorption efficiency. FIG. 2 shows a conventional sealed lead acid battery. Figure 3 compares the gas absorption efficiency of the inventive product and the conventional product in PE2-12 type sealed lead-acid batteries with a 20-hour rate discharge capacity of 2.4AH.
Gas absorption efficiency is 100% even at 0.5CA,
Gas absorption performance can be significantly improved compared to 20% of conventional products.
