2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, chains and gears have been commonly used as driving means for bicycles. In this system, as shown in Figure 4, a crank 12 is rotated by a pedal 11, and a chain 8 is hooked onto a front gear 2 which is fixed integrally with the crank, and this chain 8 is pivotally supported at the rear end of the bicycle frame. Since it is also applied to the rear sprocket 13, the rear sprocket rotates, thereby rotating the rear wheel (not shown) fixed to the rear sprocket 13.

Conventionally, this type of sports car drives on paved roads. There are many things that happen, and I don't really think about mud sticking to the chain.
There was no need for a chain case.1 However, in recent years, a sports car with a new use called the Mountain Pike has been developed.

In other words, when the chain and gears are covered with mud due to driving in extremely muddy areas, and when the mud gets stuck where the chain and gear engage, it becomes difficult for the chain to come off the gears. If this phenomenon occurs in the front pulley, the front pulley is rotating in the direction of the arrow in Figure 4, so the lower chain, that is, the chain 8-1 on the slack side, is connected to the front gear as shown in Figure 5. It rotates while fixed to the tips of the teeth, and is lifted up to the chain stay 9 position.

In Figure 6, 1. The chain 9 is shown hanging on the outer gear 2-1 of the middle gear 2, but the same thing can be done with the middle gear 2-2 or the inner gear 2-3.
If this occurs, the chain 8 will be caught between the chain stay 9 and the outer gear 2-1 and become fixed. If this happens while driving, the rotation of the crank will suddenly stop, which is dangerous.

Conventionally, in order to prevent this phenomenon, a patch plate 1 as shown in Fig. 6 was installed in the gap between the chainstay 9 and the front gear 2.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, with this method, the size of the gap between the backing plate and the front gear cannot be adjusted, and since the backing plate cannot be fixed directly to the chainstay, other There was a problem that it could not be used for frames.

Effect: By using the above method, the stopper can be fixed in the optimal position to prevent the chain from hoisting up, and the gap between the stopper and the front gear can be adjusted optimally. If the chain is stuck to the front gear with mud and is about to be hoisted, it should be placed on the chainstay. Before it approaches, it comes into contact with a stopper provided close to the tips of the front gear teeth, preventing the chain from moving upwards, and allowing the chain to separate from the front gear.Example: Chain winding according to the present invention An embodiment of the prevention device will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3.

The support fitting 3 is formed by bending a sheet metal, and has a long hole 3-1 at one end as shown in FIG.
Therefore, it is fixed to the lower bridge 6 of the bicycle with bolts 6 and nuts 7. The other end of the support fitting 3 is extended to the right side of the frame, that is, close to the front gear 2, and forms a mounting surface 3-2 parallel to the plate surface of the front gear 2 near the outer periphery of the front gear 2. It has an elongated hole 3-3 for attaching the stopper fitting 1. The end of the mounting surface 3-2 of the support fitting 3 has a guide portion 3-4 formed by folding and bending a sheet metal, and regulates the direction of the stopper fitting 1. This direction coincides with the direction of the center C of the front gear, as shown in FIG.

By installing the stopper 1 very close to the tooth tip of the front gear 2 and the side surface of the gear plate, it can be brought into contact with the chain 8 that is caught in the gear due to mud etc., and can be removed. A suitable location for this installation is the location on the outer periphery of the gear 2 where the chain 8 normally leaves, that is, the center of the chain C.
It is behind the point just below the chain stay 9 and below the place where it intersects with the chainstay 9. Therefore, the support fitting 1 is connected to the chain stay 9 and the loose side chain 8 after the hanger 10 by the support fitting 3.

Gap between fitting 1 and gear plate 2 ll r 12.15
The gap SI+82 between the stopper fitting 1 and the tooth tip are both important dimensions. This is because if it is too large, there is a risk that the chain d will be caught between the gaps, and if it is still too small, there is a risk that it will come into contact with the gear plate 2 or the tips of the teeth.
