In conventional inventory management systems, computer systems are generally independent, and since the terminal equipment dedicated to the computer is installed in a remote location, it is necessary to use a switching system as a selective connection method because the terminals are distributed via communication circuits. It does not specifically require an exchange system as an essential element. Switching systems originally have a central control circuit that processes information, but recently they have also been equipped with a billing information management device that includes the creation of communication charge statements that change depending on the communication destination, terminals connected to the switch, and trunk lines. Many of them are equipped with an information management device that requires an exchange system, such as a traffic information management device.

In this way, the conventional inventory management system has an information management device in an automatic exchange system installed in a normal office, but does not perform general type of information management, and is structured so that a separate computer for information management is installed. This has the disadvantage that the equipment becomes uneconomical.

Next, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 1 is a functional block diagram showing one embodiment of the inventory management system of the present invention. First, we will explain the management system for drug usage at each medical office when an automatic exchange system is introduced into a hospital system. In FIG. 1, an automatic switching system 1 includes a subscriber line 2
A private automatic branch exchange system that accommodates telephones 21 and 22 connected to a central office and a central office line 3 connected to a central telephone office, which includes a telephone line circuit 11, a main switch 12, and a trunk circuit 1.
3, communication path system control circuit 14, central control circuit 15,
The information processing circuit 16 includes an information processing circuit 16 and a central bus 17, and the information processing circuit 16 includes an input/output device 18 and an external storage circuit 19.
is connected. Telephone line circuit 11, main switch 12, trunk circuit 13, communication line control circuit 1
4. The functions and operations of the central control circuit 15 and the central bus 17 are the same as those of a general automatic exchange system, so a description thereof will be omitted. The information processing circuit 16 is sometimes used as a billing processing circuit for calculating communication charges as part of an automatic exchange system, and in this embodiment, it is used as an information processing circuit for managing drug usage status in a hospital. The processing contents of the information processing circuit 16 are outputted by the input/output device 18 and stored in the external storage circuit 19, so that the drug usage status of each medical office and the entire hospital can be stored as management information. The input/output device 18 can also request the information processing circuit 16 to retrieve the stored contents of the external storage circuit 19. Trunk circuit 13
A service trunk 131 included in the system is similar to a trunk used for the automatic transfer service of an automatic switching system, and is a receiving circuit for drug usage information, and a dial tone register 132 is connected to a calling telephone (for example, 21). This is a register circuit for a general automatic switching system that sends out a dial tone. Next, the creation and management of drug usage management information will be explained. The telephone 21 of the medical office makes a call, is connected to the dial tone register 132 via the main switch 12 by the operation of the normal automatic exchange system, and after receiving the dial tone, dials the special number "81" for drug usage status notification. The tone register 132 identifies the call tone register 132 and notifies the central control circuit 15 via the communication line control circuit 14 and the central bus 17 to connect the service trunk 131 and the telephone 21. After receiving a response tone from the service trunk 131 connected by the central control circuit 15, the subscriber dials the drug name and usage amount as the drug usage status using numbers according to a predetermined rule. Notify the central control circuit 15 of the number. The central control circuit 15 that received the notification sends the service trunk 1
Since the information that 31 is for drug usage status management and the subscriber number connected to this trunk 131 are obtained as information of the exchange system, the information processing circuit 16 is provided with medication usage status notification, medication name and usage information, and information on the usage status of the medication. This information transmitting subscriber signal (corresponding to the medical office number) is sent to create usage status information such as a predetermined medical office example, drug type, etc., and the results are stored in the external storage circuit 19, and the input/output device 18 in the pharmacy is sent to the pharmacy. It outputs information and prompts for replenishment of medicines. Once the drug is refilled at the pharmacy, this information can be input from the input/output device 18 to manage not only the usage status but also the inventory status.

In the above example, the explanation was limited to the inside of the hospital, but
As an automatic exchange system, pharmacies and the like outside hospitals can also join this system by exchanging information via public stations and transferring information between the information processing circuit and input/output devices via communication lines. In addition, since medical office subscribers enter information using dialed numbers, telephone dials can be rotary or push-button dials, and the terminal equipment of automatic exchange systems is not limited to telephones, but service trunks that correspond to code input using electronic key boards. The range of applications can be expanded by installing a (receiving circuit).
Furthermore, the central control circuit of the electronic exchange system is an information processing circuit, and small-scale information processing can be performed using only the central control circuit without requiring the information processing circuit described in the above embodiment. The circuit is connected to external storage circuits and input/output devices via a central bus.
