Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve operability, visibility, and original setting performance and to make a copying machine easier to be used by arranging plural light emitting bodies(LED) along two adjacent sides around a contact glass and performing display by lighting the light emitting body in a range showing the size of a paper in a paper feeding cassette which is selected at present among them. CONSTITUTION:Plural LEDs(light emitting bodies) 3 are arranged along two adjacent sides around the contact glass 2, and a paper feeding cassette detection part 8 detects paper feeding cassettes 5-7 housed in a copying machine main body, and the information is transmitted to a microcomputer(CPU) 9. A CPU 9 judges the size of a paper in the cassettes 5-7 selected at present based on the detection information from the detection part 8 and gives an instruction to an LED lighting control part 4 so that the LED in the range showing the size, out of the respective LEDs 3, is lighted so as to perform the display. Thus, the operability, the visibility and the original setting performance are improved and the copying machine becomes easier to be used.

In the opening/closing structure of the document holding plate (or automatic document feeder) in (2), the spread size is A3 size as shown in FIG. When you try to copy a book manuscript 44 that is longer than its width (one page is A4 or larger), the rear hinge 42 gets in the way and the book manuscript 44 is copied page by page.
As shown in Figure 7 (B), copies must be made while being rotated 180 degrees, which not only makes it difficult to work, but also causes the copied images to be flipped vertically, making it difficult to organize them later. Put it away.
