【発明の詳細な説明】

【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、方形横断面の細長いポ
リマー発泡ブロックが設けられており、この方形横断面
が、辺aとbを有し、かつ切欠きを有し、この切欠きが
、1つの辺にあってブロックの全長に沿って延びている
、衝撃エネルギーを吸収する発泡部品に関する。

【従来の技術】衝撃エネルギー吸収部品の効果は品質係
数ηによって表され、この品質係数は、従来通常のポリ
マー発泡部品では0.5〜0.7である。これは次式に
よって計算される。

【数1】 その場合E1は実際に吸収されたエネルギーであり、か
つE2は、品質係数η=1を有する理想エネルギー吸収
体によって吸収できるはずのエネルギーである。図1の
グラフに示すように、このような部品は、準方形の力変
位特性曲線を有するので、最大衝撃力Fmaxのところ
で極めて小さな変位sしか生じないようにする。

【発明の目的】それ故に本発明の目的は、力変位特性曲
線が基本的にほぼ方形である簡単な衝撃エネルギー吸収
部品を開発することにある。

【発明の構成】この目的は、前記のような部品により次
のようにして達成されることがわかった。その場合本発
明によれは、深さcを有する切欠きは、平行な辺を備え
た幅dの中央部と端末円弧部とを有し、かつ前記の寸法
は次式を満たす。
【0006】 a  =  0.90〜1.10×b c  =  0.65〜0.80×b d  =  0.45〜0.55×a

【実施例】本発明の実施例を以下図面により詳細に説明
する。
【0008】部品は、方形横断面の細長いポリマー発泡
ブロック1を有し、この方形横断面は、辺aとbを有し
、かつ切欠き2を有し、この切欠きは、ブロックの全長
に沿って延びている(第2図)。吸収すべき衝撃力Fは
、切欠き2の反対側にある面aに作用する。切欠きは、
辺bに対して平行な幅dの中央部3を有し、この中央部
は円弧部4に隣接している。切欠きの全深さはcである
。前記寸法が次の条件を満たしていれば、a  =  
0.90〜1.10×b c  =  0.65〜0.80×b d  =  0.45〜0.55×a 図3に示した実質的に方形の力変位特性曲線が得られ、
曲線のパラメータは部品材料の密度ρである。比較のた
め、通常のポリマー発泡部品の特性曲線5が示してある
【0009】第2図に示す破線の輪郭6は、最大衝撃力
Fmaxの場合の発泡ブロック1の変形状態を表してい
る。衝撃力が減少すると、ブロックは実質的に弾性的に
元の形に戻る。
【0010】適当な発泡材料は、発泡ポリプロピレン、
ポリウレタン及びポリ塩化ビニルのようなハード及びセ
ミハード発泡系である。
【0011】このような材料から作った本発明による部
品を使用した実験によれば、従来の部品よりも品質係数
ηがかなり大きくなることがわかった。

  1. 【請求項1】  方形横断面の細長いポリマー発泡ブロ
    ックが設けられており、この方形横断面が、辺aとbを
    有し、かつ切欠きを有し、この切欠きは、1つの辺にあ
    ってブロックの全長に沿って延びており、深さCを有す
    るこの切欠きは、平行な辺を備えた幅dの中央部と端末
    円弧部とを有し、これらの寸法は次式 a  =  0.90〜1.10×b c  =  0.65〜0.80×b d  =  0.45〜0.55×a を満たすことを特徴とする、衝撃エネルギーを吸収する
    発泡部品。
