Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 技術分野 この発明は、超音波加工用ホーンと受具との間
に配置された複数の熱可塑性材料からなるシート
状加工材料を押圧挟持するとともに加工用ホーン
に超音波振動を付与することによつて、複数のシ
ート状加工材料を互いに超音波溶着するようにし
た超音波加工機に関するものである。
従来技術 従来、この種の超音波加工機においては加工用
ホーン及び受具のシート状加工材料と当接する加
工面は単なる平坦面により構成されていたため、
例えば、2枚のシート状加工材料を互いにその先
端又は側端を重ね合わせたあとその重合部におい
て溶着させようとする場合には、その重ね合わせ
部分の加工材料の先端若しくは側端の栽断形状と
かそれらの加工材料の重ね合わせ具合とかの影響
によりその溶着個所の仕上がり具合が決定される
ものであつた。ところが、第8図に示されるよう
な2枚のシート状加工材料の先端溶着部を付き合
わせるようにして正確に重ね合わせる作業は非常
に面倒で、作業性が悪いものであり、通常、第4
図に示されるように2枚のシート状加工材料の先
端部を重ね合わせた溶着作業を施した後、重ね合
わせ部分の不要個所をナイフ、ハサミ等により切
断するように為されていたが、この切断作業に多
大な時間を有し、実用的でないという問題点を有
するものであつた。
目 的 この発明は、上述した従来装置における問題点
を解消するために為されたもので、加工用ホーン
と受具との間に重合して配置された複数枚のシー
ト状加工材料の重合部の溶着時において、加工用
ホーンと受具との双方に突条を形成させておき、
それらの突条先端部によつて前記重合部のうち突
条側に位置する各シート状加工材料を溶着と同時
に切断することにより、作業性が良く、仕上がり
が良好な超音波による溶着溶断加工を施し得る超
音波溶着機を提供することを目的とするものであ
る。
実施例 以下に、この発明を具体化した一実施例を示す
図面を参照して、その詳細を説明する。
第1図において、基台1の右方側端には支柱2
が上方に起立され、その支柱2にはフレーム3が
支持されている。そのフレーム3にはシリンダ4
が載置され、そのシリンダ4中に内装されたピス
トンに連結されたピストンロツド5及びそのピス
トンロツド5に固着された可動枠体6は共に上下
動可能に配置されている。その可動枠体6には、
下端に加工用ホーン7を有し上端に振動子8を有
する振動子組体がその中間部に形成された鍔部に
おいて連結されている。前記基台1上の前記加工
用ホーン7の下方には受具9が載置され、その受
具9上にはシート状加工材料10A,10Bが配
置されている。
又、11は前記シリンダ4の上室にエアを供給
するためのエア回路で、その回路11中に逆止弁
12と流量調節弁13とが並列に配置されてい
る。14は前記シリンダ4の下室にエアを供給す
るためのエア回路で、その回路中に逆止弁15と
流量調節弁16とが並列に配置されている。切換
弁17はコンプレツサー18からのエアを前記各
エア回路11,14のうちいづれに供給するかの
切換制御を行なうための切換弁である。19は前
記回路14中に配置された圧力感知スイツチで、
前記シリンダの下室の圧力が一定圧力以下となつ
た時作動するものである。20は始動スイツチ、
21Aは前記可動枠体6に連結固定されたスクー
ルで、フレーム3に固定された読み取り装置21
Bによつて、前記可動枠体6の上下方向における
変位量が検出可能に配置されている。その読み取
り装置21Bの出力は制御回路22に接続され、
その変位量出力信号に基づき振動子の起動・停止
を行なつたり、前記切換弁17の切換制御を行な
うために、制御回路22の出力は振動子駆動回路
23及びSOL駆動回路24に接続されている。
第2図において、前記加工用ホーン7の下端の
前記受具9に対向する加工面には第1の平坦面7
aが形成されるとともにその平坦面上においてそ
の加工面に沿つて一方向に延びる突条7bが形成
されている、又、受具9の前記加工用ホーン7と
の対向する対向面にも前記第1の平坦面7aと平
行な第2の平坦面9aが形成されるととともにそ
の第2の平坦面には前記突条7bと相似な三角形
の断面形状を有する突条9bが前記突条7bと略
平行な方向に形成されている。
前記両突条7b,9bには図面に示す様に両者
を最接近させたとき互いに接合可能な傾斜面7
c,9cと、その傾斜面7c,9cの突端におい
て他方に前記平坦面7a,9aに接合可能な微小
幅平坦部7d,9dとが設けられている。
次に、以上のように構成された超音波加工機の
作動について以下に説明を行なう。
まず、第4図に示されるように、2枚のシート
状加工材料10A,10B各々の先端部を重ね合
わせ、その重合部の所望溶着個所10Cが、前記
加工用ホーン7に形成された突条7bの下方位
置、即ち前記受具9に形成された突条9b上に位
置するように加工材料10A,10Bを配置した
後、始動スイツチ20が押圧されると、前記コン
プレツサー18からのエアによつてシリンダ4が
作動され、加工用ホーン7が降下される。次に、
その加工用ホーン7の降下に伴ない、その下端に
形成された第1の突条7b先端が第2図に示され
るように加工材料10Aに当接され、引き続きそ
の加工用ホーン7が降下されることによつて前記
第1、第2平坦面7a,9a及び第1、第2突条
7b,9b等の間に加工材料10A,10Bが密
接されると前記シリンダ4内の下室内の圧力が減
少され、前記圧力感知スイツチ19が作動され
る。その作動信号の発生に伴ない、前記振動子駆
動回路23が起動され、振動子8が超音波振動さ
れ、前記加工用ホーン7の加工面及び受具9の対
向面間に配置された加工材料10A,10Bに超
音波振動が付与され、それらの加工材料の溶融に
伴なつて、前記突条7が加工材料10A,10B
中に圧入されると、加工用ホーン7及びそれを支
持している可動枠体6が共に降下される。次に、
前記読み取り装置21Bによつて、第3図に示さ
れるように、その可動枠体6が予め定められた値
を越えるまで降下されたのが検知されると(換言
すれば、加工用ホーン7の第1の突条7bの先端
と第2の平坦面9aとの間の間隔が加工材料10
A又は10Bの厚さと加工用ホーン7の加工面に
おける縦方向振動量との和と略等しくなつた時)、
その読み取り装置21Bから読み取り信号が制御
回路22に出力され、この制御回路22中に内蔵
されたタイマーに基づき予め定められたタイマー
時間が経過した後、前記振動子駆動回路23の駆
動が停止される。その振動子駆動回路23の駆動
停止後、前記制御回路22は前記SOL駆動回路
24を駆動するための駆動信号を出力し、それに
伴ない、前記切換弁17が作動され、加工用ホー
ン7及び可動枠体6等は第1図に示される位置に
再び上昇される。
上記作動によつて、加工材料10A及び10B
には第5図及び第6図に示されるような溶着W及
び溶断P,Q加工が同時に施されるので、作業者
は、第7図に示されるよう不要個所(10A1及
び10B1)を取り除くことによつて、第8図及
び第9図に示されるような製品とすることがで
き、一度に良好な溶着溶断加工を為し得る。
尚、上記実施例において、加工用ホーン及び受
具に形成された突条の先端が重合された加工材料
の互いに突条側に位置する加工材料の切断を検知
する手段として、可動枠体の降下量(変位量)に
基いてその切断を検知する例を示したが、加工用
ホーン、可動枠体等が予め定められた位置より降
下されないようにその可動枠体に機械的なストツ
パーを設けるようにしても良い。
又、尚、上記実施例において、第1、第2の突
条は互いに平行且つ直線的に延びるように配置さ
れた例を示したが、これらの突条は必ずしも直線
に沿うものでなくとも良いことは言うまでもな
い。
また、上記実施例においては第1・第2の突条
の先端の平坦部は他方の平坦面と平行な面として
あるが、被加工材料の種類、厚さ等によつては僅
かに傾斜させて溶断の効果を一層顕著にすること
ができることは勿論である。
効 果 以上詳述したように、この発明は、加工用ホー
ン及び受具の対向する平坦面上に互いに突出して
延びる突条を形成させ、それらの対向面に重合さ
れたシート材を配置し、加工用ホーン及び受具に
よつてシート材を押圧するとともに加工用ホーン
に超音波振動を付与することによつて、重合され
たシート材を溶着させるとともに各突条によつ
て、溶着個所以外のシート材の重合部を加工用ホ
ーン及び受具の双方の側より溶断除去し得るよう
に構成されたもので、複数のシート材の溶着のた
めの重ね合わせ作業が簡単に為し得るのみなら
ず、溶着及び溶断作業を同時に為し得るもので、
作業性の向上に寄与し得、しかも、均一で良好な
溶着加工を施し得る等の優れた効果を奏するもの
である。

側面図、第2図、第3図はこの発明の要部を拡大
して示す正面図、第4図乃至第9図はこの発明を
説明するための説明図である。 図中、7は加工用ホーン、7bは第1の突条、
9は受具、9bは第2の突条、21Aはスケー
ル、21Bは読み取り装置、22は制御回路であ
る。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 加工用ホーンと、その加工用ホーンに対向し
    て置かれた受具と、前記加工用ホーンに超音波振
    動を付与する超音波振動付与手段と、前記加工用
    ホーンと受具とを相対的に接近離隔させるための
    移動手段とを備え、前記加工用ホーンと受具との
    間に置かれた複数枚の熱可塑性シート材を互いに
    溶着させる超音波加工機において、 前記加工用ホーンと受具との双方に前記移動方
    向に直交し互いに平行な第一、第二の平坦面を形
    成するとともに、その各平坦面に互いに他方に向
    かつて突出する突条を形成し、かつそれらの突条
    には両者を最接近させたとき互いに接合可能な傾
    斜面と、その傾斜面の突端において他方の前記平
    坦面に接合可能な微小幅の平坦部とを設け、前記
    傾斜部によつてそれらに挟まれた熱可塑性のシー
    ト材を超音波溶着するとともに、前記平坦部によ
    つて前記シート材のその平坦部に接する部分を溶
    断可能としたことを特徴とする超音波加工機。
