Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a dimension of depth and to simplify a loading mechanism by performing a vertical moving motion with a roller or pinion which is a part of horizontal motion driving system. CONSTITUTION:A recording/reproducing medium cassette 2 is loaded in a tray 3 drawn out from a recording/reproducing device 1 by the roller or pinion 4 to start the loading mechanism. The tray 3 is inserted inside of the recording/ reproducing device 1 by the roller or pinion 4, and the vertical motion is performed with the roller or pinion 4 which is a part of horizontal motion driving system, after the horizontal motion is finished, then the tray is loaded in the recording/reproducing mechanism 5. Therefore, the dimension from the front of recording/reproducing device to the cassette 2 is reduced and a 2nd mechanism system for the vertical motion is made unnecessary.
