2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, chairs have been known which include a seat having a cushion attached to the upper surface of a shell. In this type of cushion, for example, the cushion is attached to the shell in the following manner. That is, as shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, a plurality of recesses b are formed on the back surface of the cushion a, and a metal attachment wire c is embedded in the cushion a so as to pass through each of the recesses b. be. On the other hand, a bifurcated engaging portion e that can be inserted into each of the recesses b is attached to the upper surface of the shell d. Then, while inserting the engaging portion e into the recess b, the back surface of the cushion a and the upper surface of the shell d are overlapped and strongly pressed against each other, thereby removing the exposed portion c1 located in each recess b of the attachment wire c. Each engaging portion e is elastically engaged.

By the way, the conventional mounting wire c is simply a metal wire material formed into an annular shape and its ends joined together by welding, and is buried at a constant depth. Therefore, when the exposed portion c1 located in the recess of the attachment wire c is engaged with the engagement portion e, the tip e1 of the engagement portion e is lower than the attachment wire c on the cushion surface a1.
It will protrude to the side. Therefore, there is a problem in that the covering thickness of the cushion a is reduced only in the portion where the engaging portion e is present, giving a rugged feeling to the seated person. In other words, if the thickness of the cushion is set to a level that does not cause discomfort due to the presence of the engaging portion e, the problem that the cushion a becomes unnecessarily thick in areas other than the portion where the engaging portion e is present is avoided. be.

According to such a configuration, the engaging portions 3, 4,
It is possible to eliminate the problem that the thickness of the cushion 1 is partially insufficient only in the portion where the cushion 1 is present. Therefore, it is possible to eliminate the rugged feeling caused by the presence of the engaging portions 3, 4, and 5 without unnecessarily increasing the thickness of the cushion 1, and it is possible to provide a comfortable sitting feeling. In addition, this method allows the attachment wire 14 to be buried without making the burial depth of the attachment wire 14 unduly shallow.
Only the exposed portions 14a, 14b, 14c of 4 can be brought close to the shell 2. Therefore, the protruding dimensions of the engaging portions 3, 4, and 5 can be reduced while maintaining the mounting strength of the cushion 1. Therefore, when the engaging portion is integrally molded with the shell, it is possible to perform the molding using a mold with relatively small irregularities, which facilitates the manufacturing of the mold and improves the durability of the mold.

[0020] The engaging portions are not limited to those of the embodiments described above; for example, all the engaging portions may be bifurcated. However, if the configuration is as in the embodiment described above, the following effects can be obtained. In other words, in the case of the embodiment described above, even if a forward pressing force is applied to the cushion 1 due to the seated person leaning back, the attachment wire 14 of the cushion 1 will not bend the hook-shaped engagement portion 3. This results in a stronger engagement with the portion 32 and prevents the front edge portion 1b of the cushion 1 from lifting off from the shell 2. The other engaging parts 4 and 5 other than the hook-shaped engaging part 3 provided on the front end 2b of the shell 2 are bifurcated parts that are released upward. Since the load applied to 1c increases with the backward tilt, the attachment wire 14 does not come off from the bifurcated engaging portions 4 and 5. Therefore, compared to the case where all the engaging parts are bifurcated, the cushion 1 can be more securely attached to the shell 2, and the problem of the front edge 1b of the cushion 1 lifting up can be solved. can.

Various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. For example, all of the bifurcated engaging portions may be provided with a pair of standing walls. However, when the attachment wire is held by a bifurcated engagement portion consisting of a single upright wall,
It becomes easier to see-saw using the standing wall as a fulcrum,
If the shell is twisted or a large unbalanced load is applied to a certain part of the cushion, the attachment wire will deform with relatively little resistance, and in extreme cases, a particular part will lift up and separate from the adjacent engaging part. There is a risk that it will come off. On the other hand, if all of the bifurcated engaging parts inserted into each recessed part each have a pair of standing walls,
Partial seesaw movement of the attachment wire can be effectively prevented. Therefore, it is possible to make the attachment state of the attachment wire to the shell more stable and strong. Furthermore, the distance from the tip of the engaging portion that engages with each exposed portion of the attachment wire to the cushion surface may be set to be slightly larger than the distance from the non-exposed portion of the attachment wire to the cushion surface.

Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to a seat, but can be similarly applied to a backrest formed by attaching a cushion to the front surface of a shell.

[Effects of the Invention] Since the present invention is constructed as described above, it is possible to eliminate the problem that the thickness of the cushion is partially insufficient only in the portion where the engaging portion is present. Therefore, the rugged feeling caused by the presence of the engaging portion can be eliminated without unnecessarily increasing the thickness of the cushion. That is, according to the present invention, the optimal cushion thickness is selected to provide a comfortable sitting experience without requiring the cushion to be unnecessarily thick due to the presence of the engaging portion. It becomes possible to do so. Further, according to the present invention, only the exposed portion of the attachment wire can be brought close to the shell without making the burial depth of the attachment wire too shallow. Therefore, the protruding dimension of the engaging portion can be reduced while maintaining the mounting strength of the cushion. Therefore, there is also an effect that it becomes easier to integrally mold the engaging portion with the shell.
