[Operation] In this invention, since multiple arcs of a multi-phase multi-electrode arc generator are used to melt radioactive pollutants, the radioactive pollutants become molten at an extremely high temperature. Electromagnetic forces and rotating magnetic fields from multiple arcs act on the molten material in a normal state, and vibrations are applied to the molten material. As a result, the metal component and the ceramic component, which vibrate in a natural manner, are completely separated. Further, since the high temperature region caused by the arc is localized, rapid heating and cooling are possible, and the metal and ceramic can be solidified in an amorphous state while being separated. Therefore, the treated pollutants can be taken out as small-volume metal or ceramic lumps.

[0013] Furthermore, in the high-temperature treatment using the arc, the radioactivity content of the dissipated substance decreases and the radioactivity content of the solidified solid material increases. Therefore, it is possible to reuse the solidified solid matter as a source of low-level radiation, and the risk of radioactivity can be reduced to almost nothing by collecting the dissipated materials and repeating the arc treatment. It can also be removed and returned to the natural world.

Furthermore, by extracting the molten substance of the pollutant as a solid substance in a desired shape, that is, a metal lump or a ceramic lump, handling and transportation become easier, and even if the substance is disposed of, the pollution caused by the above melting process is reduced. Coupled with the reduction in the volume of objects, disposal work becomes easier.

[0017] Furthermore, in the present invention, the multi-phase AC power supply has a switch circuit capable of turning on and off the positive side and negative side contacts of the DC power supply, or switching between the positive side and negative side contacts. Since we used a power supply device that outputs multiphase AC voltage, it is equipped with a plurality of conversion units that convert the voltage into AC voltage, and a control circuit that sequentially switches and controls the switch circuits of each of the conversion units with a predetermined time difference. Even in places without a power source, as long as there is a DC power source, radioactivity-containing pollutants can be treated and recycled as described above.

[0029] Furthermore, when nuclear-related waste or natural radioactive mineral residues are melted using the multi-arc flame, they become metals, ceramics, or composites of these and other substances, and the volume may be reduced to 1/10 depending on the product. It becomes ~1/20 of that, and becomes an extremely hard metal material that does not rust, or a ceramic material that does not crack even when rapidly heated or cooled. This makes it easier to handle the treated waste and process it for reuse. In addition, since the above-mentioned metallic substances and ceramic substances have different natural frequencies, even if these mixed melts are solidified in the same mold, the metal will not completely settle in the lower part and the ceramic in the upper part. It will separate and solidify. Therefore, after the solid material is taken out from the mold, it can be easily separated into the metallic solid material and the ceramic solid material.

It is also possible to melt entire drums filled with various materials such as oil and ash using multi-arc flames. At this time, for example, a container containing clothing waste may be crushed to form an appropriate shape and then melted using a multi-arc. In addition, the various types of waste listed above may be processed in the furnace at the same time, and in this case, all of the various wastes become molten ceramic and metal, and both can be easily separated and collected to take out the solid material in a predetermined shape. It is also convenient for processing for subsequent reuse.

This multi-arc is different from conventional arcs, which require metal to emit an arc or require a ground wire, but unlike a gas burner, it emits an arc flame of over 4000°C the moment it is turned on. , occurs regardless of whether it is underwater, in the air, or in a vacuum. Moreover, the temperature can be raised to tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of degrees, and the direction of the arc flame can be controlled automatically by applying an electromagnetic field, making it easy to work with unmanned robots.

[0034] Furthermore, if oyster shells etc. adhering to the drainage ditch of a nuclear power plant, which may be located underwater, are subjected to multi-arc treatment using an underwater multi-arc torch, the adhesion force will be reduced due to thermal alteration and they will be removed. easy to remove and can be easily removed. Furthermore, the extracted oyster shells and the like can be melted and solidified using a multi-arc to become a useful ceramic and can be recycled and utilized. Multi-arc processing is also effective for melting, cutting, and demolishing structures, whether in the air or underwater, and can be safely processed using arc flames using robots.

Furthermore, it is also possible to treat the highly radioactive liquid used for cooling the nuclear reactor. In other words, if such a highly radioactive liquid is mixed with materials that easily absorb radioactivity or are easily combusted or incinerated, or other waste from nuclear power plants, and then melted using a multi-arc,
The radioactivity level of the water vapor that evaporates during treatment is reduced, while the radioactivity is condensed and remains in the solidified solids. Therefore, by repeating this process on the water vapor, a highly radioactive liquid can be changed into a safe liquid that is extremely weakly radioactive.

[0036] Furthermore, the radioactivity-condensed solid can be reused as a source of low-level radioactivity. for example,
Safety can be improved by forming the above solid object into the shape of a fountain pen or the like, that is, a shape that is easy for a person to hold, and coating it with magnetic steel, which has a radiation shielding effect, by a method such as thermal spraying, except for the tip. A radiation source that is expensive and extremely easy to handle can be obtained. It is also possible to form the solid substance into a minute sphere, attach it to the tip of the fountain pen-shaped holding member, and use this as a radiation source. Such radiation sources currently have the potential for effective use, particularly in medical technology, and are thought to open the door to effective use in other technical fields in the future.

In the above embodiment, a three-phase voltage is used as the multi-phase AC power supply, but in places where there is no three-phase power supply, a DC power supply or a single-phase power supply may be used. The same voltage may be applied to a plurality of electrodes, the number of which is a multiple of 2, to generate an arc between the plurality of electrodes. Alternatively, a three-phase voltage may be generated from a direct current or single-phase power source to generate an arc between a plurality of electrodes. At this time, many arc waveforms are generated depending on the combination of power supplies, but it is desirable to use the arc method that is most effective for processing the target object.

As described above, according to the method for treating and regenerating radioactivity-containing pollutants according to the present invention, a plurality of arcs of the above multi-phase multi-electrode arc generator are used to melt various radioactivity-containing pollutants. As a result, the radioactive pollutants reach an extremely high temperature molten state, and electromagnetic vibrations and rotating magnetic fields from multiple arcs are applied to the molten material in this state, causing the molten material to be electrically and mechanically damaged. This will cause the metal component and the ceramic component to be completely separated. Further, since the high temperature region caused by the arc is localized, rapid heating and cooling are possible, and the metal and ceramic can be solidified in an amorphous state while being separated. Therefore, it is possible to take out the treated pollutants as small-volume metal lumps or ceramic lumps.

[0052] Furthermore, in the high-temperature treatment using the arc, the radiation content of the dissipated substance decreases, and the radioactivity content of the solidified solid substance increases. For this reason, it is possible to reuse the solidified solid material as a radiation source, etc., and by collecting the dissipated materials and repeating the arc treatment, the risk of radioactivity is almost eliminated and it can be used in the natural world. You can also change it back to .

Furthermore, the multiphase AC power supply has a switch circuit capable of turning on and off the positive and negative contacts of the DC power supply, or switching between the positive and negative contacts, and converts DC to AC. Since we used a power supply device that outputs polyphase AC voltage, it is equipped with a plurality of converters for converting into AC voltage, and a control circuit that sequentially controls switching of the switch circuits of each converter at a predetermined time difference. Even in places where there is no radioactivity, as long as there is a DC power supply, it is possible to treat and regenerate radioactive pollutants as described above.
