BACKGROUND ART Conventionally, in order to prevent dimensional changes in wood products due to moisture absorption, paint has been applied to the cut ends of wood products, for example, and the coating film is used as a moisture-proof layer. Paints for this purpose include oil-based paints, cellulose-based paints, and these paints to which relatively large amounts of extender pigments such as talc are added.

However, moisture-proofing treatment using such paints is not effective because the moisture barrier of the paint film itself is not high enough.
The moisture-proofing effect was insufficient, and the only way to obtain a sufficient moisture-proofing effect was to increase the thickness of the coating film.

The amount of chromium oxide added is approximately 5 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resin content of the emulsion paint. If it is less than 5 parts by weight, a sufficient moisture-proofing effect cannot be obtained, and if it exceeds 20 parts by weight, an increase in the moisture-proofing effect can no longer be obtained, and there is a risk that the emulsion may be destroyed, which is disadvantageous. Chromium oxide () is easily water soluble;
The aqueous solution turns into chromic acid and exhibits strong acidity.
As a result, the emulsion state of the emulsion paint becomes unstable, and there is a risk that the polymer emulsion may be destroyed. Therefore, for the purpose of stabilizing the emulsified state, nonionic materials such as polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, polyoxyethylene fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene alkyl phenyl ether, polyhydric alcohol fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene polyhydric alcohol fatty acid ester, etc. It is preferable to add a cationic surfactant such as a halogenated trimethylaminoethylalkylamide, an alkylpyridinium sulfate, or a halogenated alkyltrimethylammonium as an emulsion stabilizer. The amount of this emulsion stabilizer added is 1 to 1 to 100 parts by weight of the resin content of the emulsion paint.
About 5 parts by weight is preferable. If it is less than 1 part by weight, a sufficient effect of stabilizing the emulsion state cannot be obtained, and if it exceeds 5 parts by weight, the effect will not increase and it is also uneconomical.

Such moisture-proof and antiseptic paints are made of chromium oxide ()
It has a high moisture-proofing effect due to the addition of . this is,
Chromium oxide in the paint becomes chromic acid, CrO 3 + H 2 O → H 2 CrO 4 Chromate ions react with reducing substances such as cellulose in wood to form an insoluble complex compound, which provides moisture protection. This seems to be because it provides sex.

As explained above, the moisture-proof and antiseptic paint of the present invention is an emulsion-based paint with chromium oxide added, so when applied to wood materials, it exhibits high moisture and antiseptic effects, and prevents moisture absorption and Reliably prevent rot. In addition, since the coating film has high moisture resistance, the coating thickness can be reduced, and the moisture-proof coating is visible from the outside, which is preferable in terms of appearance.
