(Industrial Application Field) The present invention relates to toothpaste, and more particularly to a binder which is an important component of toothpaste. (Conventional technology) Although the original purpose of toothpaste is to have an abrasive action, toothpaste has the ability to retain its shape when extruded onto a toothbrush, has a good texture when brushing, and is easy to clean after brushing. Various performance requirements such as long-term quality stability are required, and a large number of drugs are formulated to meet these requirements. One of these agents is a binder. The purpose of using a binder is to give toothpaste shape retention and prevent separation of solid and liquid components, but at the same time it affects the appearance and feel of the toothpaste, and affects foamability and washability. Therefore, it is an extremely important ingredient in prescriptions. The most commonly used binder is carboxymethyl cellulose sodium salt (hereinafter abbreviated as CMC). (For example, JP-A-56
−152414, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 12242, etc.)
CMC is currently one of the best binders when comprehensively evaluated in terms of various performance aspects such as price, shape retention, prevention of moisture separation, long-term stability, appearance, and usability, but it is still insufficient. is not satisfactory. In particular, since shape retention is insufficient, there are cases where the shape retention is strengthened by gelling with metal ions or using carrageenan, but in these cases, CMC's other performance will be sacrificed. (Problems to be Solved by the Invention) As a result of research to develop a binder that has all of the excellent performance of CMC and is even better in terms of shape retention, the present inventor has developed a binder with unprecedented superiority. It has become possible to obtain a binder, and the present invention has been achieved. (Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention is a dentifrice composition characterized by containing carboxymethylated guar gum as a binder. The carboxymethylated guar gum used in the present invention is obtained by using guar gum, a natural polysaccharide, as a raw material and reacting an alkali such as sodium hydroxide with monochloroacetic acid as an etherifying agent. This is based on a common law similar to the above. The carboxymethylated guar gum of the present invention can be either an acid type having a free carboxyl group or an alkali metal salt such as sodium, potassium, or the like. The degree of etherification is in the range of 0.1 to 2.5, and the viscosity of a 1% aqueous solution (B-type viscometer, 25° C., 60 rpm) is suitably 50 to 5000 cps, preferably 100 to 2000 cps. In addition to carboxymethylated guar gum, the binder in the dentifrice composition of the present invention may include other commonly used binders such as carboxymethyl cellulose, alginate propylene glycol ester,
There is no problem in adding xanthan gum or other ingredients. Further, the amount of the binder added is not necessarily limited, but is usually 0.1 to 5% by weight of the entire composition. In the present invention, as components other than the binder, ordinary components depending on the type of dentifrice composition can be used. For example, calcium carbonate, dicalcium phosphate anhydride or dihydrate, calcium sulfate, aluminum hydroxide, alumina, insoluble sodium metaphosphate, silica, aluminosilicate, calcium pyrophosphate, resin, etc. are blended as the polishing agent. In addition, wetting agents such as glycerin, sorbitol, and propylene glycol, detergents such as sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium N-lauroyl sarcosinate, sweeteners such as saccharin sodium and stevioside, preservatives, fragrances, and other various substances as necessary. Contains active ingredients. (Effects of the Invention) By using the carboxymethylated guar gum of the present invention as a binder, a toothpaste with excellent shape retention, water separation prevention effect, long-term stability, appearance, and feeling of use can be obtained. The shape retention, which was a drawback when using CMC as a binder, is significantly improved. (Example) Next, the effects of the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples, but the invention is of course not limited to these. Examples 1 to 6, Comparative Examples 1 to 6 Various carboxymethylated guar gum sodium salts (hereinafter referred to as CMG-
(abbreviated as Na) and CMC were prepared and their shape retention properties were evaluated. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1. The tanθ value indicating the shape retention of CMG-Na is
It is found that it is larger than the tanθ value and has excellent shape retention. Evaluation method: Viscosity: Measured at 25°C and 60 rpm using a B-type viscometer. Shape retention: 60 rpm at 25℃ using a B-type viscometer.
Measure each viscosity at 6 rpm and find tanθ. tanθ=log6rpm viscosity cps/60rpm viscosity cps/log60/6 The larger the value of tanθ, the better the shape retention.

The extruded shape of B became slightly sagging, but the shape of A did not deform at all. When teeth were brushed using A and B, there was no difference in cleaning performance, but A was superior in terms of feel. Furthermore, when the tube was heated to 40° C. after filling the tube and extruded onto a toothbrush, B sagged badly, but A did not lose its shape at all, and the shape retention of A was good.
