<Prior Art> A copying machine employing an electrophotographic method transfers an image formed on a recording medium onto a transfer material that is sent as appropriate. In this case, it was necessary to control the conveyance timing of the transfer material so that the leading edge of the image formation on the recording medium and the leading edge of the transfer material coincided at the transfer position. For this reason, as one example, conventionally, conveyance of the transfer material to the transfer position is started based on a signal from a detection means that detects the moving position of the recording medium, particularly the position of the rotating recording medium. As a means for detecting the rotational position of the recording medium, a cam plate or a synchronizing disk that rotates in synchronization with the recording medium is provided, and a micro switch placed at an appropriate position is actuated by the cam plate to determine the rotational position. Alternatively, there are devices that detect each slit provided in a synchronizing disk to confirm the rotational position.

When the rotational position of the recording medium is detected by the cam plate and the microswitch to start conveyance of the transfer material, errors occur in each copying machine, and the leading edge of the transfer material and the leading edge of the formed image are misaligned. This also applies to the detection of slits in a disc.
In order to eliminate this deviation, the arrangement positions of microswitches and the like and the slit forming position of the synchronization disk are adjusted. However, there are restrictions on the placement of microswitches, etc., and adjusting their positions is not only very troublesome, but also because the slits in the synchronous disk are formed all at once by press processing, so it is difficult to adjust their positions using a delay timer or the like. Consideration is given to correcting the formation position of the slit. In addition, the cam plate or synchronization disk is not only provided to control the conveyance timing of the transfer material, but also provides a synchronization signal to know the operating status of the copying machine and a signal to control other copying processes. It is used to obtain. Therefore, after adjusting the transfer material conveyance timing, the timing of other controls often shifts.

Therefore, in order to form an original image on a recording medium without controlling the conveyance of the transfer material in synchronization with the rotation of the recording medium, the movement of the scanning means that optically scans the original is used to A method for starting transportation has been proposed and implemented. FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram showing a specific example of the scanning means.
It moves the document table. In the figure, a document table 1 is provided on the main body of the copying machine so as to be movable back and forth, and a document to be copied is placed on top of the document table 1. This document table 1 is in the position shown in when the copying machine is on standby. When the copy switch for starting copying is operated in this state, it is moved in the A direction and the micro switch MSW5 indicating the exposure start position (original operation start position) is moved to the rear part of the detection plate 2.
b, and the document table 1 stops at that position.
The stopping position is as shown in . A detection plate 2 for operating the microswitch MSW5 is provided on one side of the moving document table 1, and is placed at a position on the movement path of the detection plate 2 that indicates the start of exposure.

Therefore, when an exposure start command is given, the document table 1 is moved in the direction B, the document is scanned, and exposure onto the recording medium is started. While the document table 1 is moving, a microswitch MS6 is operated to start conveying the transfer material in synchronization with the rotation of the recording medium. The microswitch MS6 is operated at the front end 2a of the detection plate 2. Further, the micro switch MS6 is arranged at a position for starting the conveyance of the transfer material on the moving path of the detection plate 2.
After this microswitch MS6 is activated, the document table 1 is moved in the direction B again, and the second detection plate 3 that detects the overrun state restarts the microswitch MS6, thereby stopping the movement of the document table 1. , this state is shown in . While the document table 1 is moving, the conveyed transfer material is sent to a transfer position where it comes into contact with a recording medium, and the formed image is transferred.

After the document table 1 is stopped, the document table 1 is moved to the initial position and stopped at that position. In this case, while the document table 1 is moving in the B direction, the micro switch MSW6 is activated to start conveying the transfer material. Adjusted to fit the copy machine. However, since it is troublesome to adjust the arrangement position of the micro switch MSW6, the position of the detection plate 2 for activating the switch is adjusted to adjust the conveyance timing of the transfer material. A specific example of this is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. As shown in the figure, the detection plate 2 has an elongated hole 4 for position adjustment, and is movably provided on a glass support plate 5 of the document table 1. Also, the detection plate 2 has screws 6

Therefore, the detection plate 2 is adjusted by loosening the screw 6, moving the detection plate 2 to a predetermined position to the left or right, and then tightening the screw 6 again. Although this method certainly makes the adjustment easier than adjusting the arrangement position of microswitches, it still takes time and effort, and the work efficiency has not been improved much. Moreover, it is troublesome to move the detection plate 2, and it is difficult to make slight movement adjustments, making it impossible to achieve accurate adjustment.

In order to operate the micro switch MSW6, the wire fixing plate 11 is provided with an adjustment plate 19 having a detection plate 18 integrally formed therein. Adjustment plate 1
9 is movably provided in a guide hole 20 bored in the fixed plate 11, as shown in FIG. Further, the detection plate 18 integrally formed with the adjustment plate 19 has a guide hole 20 as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.
The micro switch MSW 6 protrudes from the back side of the fixing plate 11 through the

In order to start conveying the transfer material at the fixed position while the document table 12 is moving (reciprocating), the micro switch MSW6 detects so that the leading edge of the image formation on the recording medium and the leading edge of the transfer material match at the transfer position. It is activated by plate 18. If the conveyance timing of the transfer material at this time is slow, that is, the leading edge of the transfer material lags behind the image forming leading edge on the recording medium, the timing of conveying the transfer material may be advanced. Therefore, as shown in Figure 4-
The adjusting gear 23 is rotated by inserting a screwdriver or the like through the hole 28, inserting it into the groove of the head 24 of the shaft portion of the adjusting gear 23, and rotating it clockwise in FIG. As a result, the adjustment plate 19 is moved to the left in the figure, and the detection plate 1 is moved as shown in FIG.
8 approaches the micro switch MSW6. Therefore, the operation of the microswitch MS6, which starts conveyance of the transfer material, becomes faster, and the timing of conveyance of the transfer material can be accelerated.

On the other hand, if the leading edge of the transfer material reaches the transfer position earlier than the image forming leading edge of the recording medium, the timing of conveyance of the transfer material may be delayed. For this purpose, the adjustment gear 23 may be rotated counterclockwise to adjust the detection plate 18 so that it is farther away from the micro switch MSW6. This delays the start of conveyance of the transfer material and allows adjustment so that the leading edge of the transfer material and the leading edge of the image formation on the recording medium coincide at the transfer position.

As described above, the timing for starting conveyance of the transfer material can be adjusted simply by rotating the adjusting gear 23 in any direction with a screwdriver or the like, and the adjustment is very simple. Further, even when the detection plate 18 is slightly moved, it is only necessary to rotate the gear 23 accordingly, and accurate adjustment can be easily performed.

Moreover, a micro switch is used as a detection means.
Although the MSW 6 and the like are provided, an optical detection means may also be used. That is, a configuration may be adopted in which a detection plate is provided to pass between the light emitting and light receiving elements, and the detection plate blocks the light from the light emitting elements so that it does not reach the light receiving elements. Alternatively, the light from the light emitting element may be reflected when passing through the detection plate, and the light may be received by the light receiving element.
