[Background technology] A transformer is generally used to transform alternating current voltage from high voltage to low voltage or from low voltage to high voltage.
Alternatively, it has been widely used in various fields as an electrical device used when attempting to insulate primary and secondary sources using direct current. Various improvements have been made to such transformers as magnetic materials and insulating materials have progressed. and,
Many of the improvements to this type of transformer in the prior art have focused primarily on so-called characteristic improvements to reduce losses.

On the other hand, in recent years, along with the miniaturization of electronic equipment such as computers, demands have been made from various quarters for transformers to be extremely miniaturized. In particular, despite advances in integrated circuit technology that have made the electronic circuit parts that handle electrical signals extremely miniaturized, the power supply parts that supply power to the electronic circuits are still transformers, choke coils, etc. Its miniaturization is delayed. For example, in a digital computer that handles large-scale signals, about half of the total volume is the power supply section.

[0004] As a method for downsizing the power supply section,
Conventionally, increasing the operating frequency has been cited. As the operating frequency becomes higher, a flat transformer using, for example, a laminated micro magnetic core has recently been proposed, and its practical use is progressing. At the same time, on the other hand, research and development of transformers using amorphous magnetic materials with excellent high frequency characteristics is also progressing in various fields.

[Problem to be Solved by the Invention] However, in the above conventional example, the idea of increasing the operating frequency theoretically leads to the miniaturization of the transformer, but in order to realize this, it is difficult to change the main magnetic path of the magnetic flux. The upper limit of the operating frequency is limited by the high-frequency characteristics of the magnetic material that is used, which causes the disadvantage of increased loss. Even if, for example, ferrite, which is a magnetic material with relatively good high frequency characteristics, is used to improve this problem, in operation above the MHZ band,
There are disadvantages in that the magnetic permeability decreases, resulting in a significant drop in conversion efficiency, and furthermore, the eddy current and hysteresis loss of the material increase, which negates the advantage of using a magnetic material.

[Operation] When an AC power source of a predetermined frequency is applied to the input terminals P1 and P2', a current i1 flows through the primary coil wire 1 in the transformer body 3 as shown in FIGS. An alternating magnetic field H of magnetic flux Φ is formed. On the other hand, in the secondary coil wire 2 disposed along the primary coil wire 1, a secondary induced voltage e2 corresponding to the magnitude of the magnetic flux Φ is generated according to Faraday's law. In this case, since the primary coil wire 1 and the secondary coil wire 2 are twisted together in a rope shape, the engagement by magnetic flux between the primary coil wire 1 and the secondary coil wire 2 is enhanced.
Therefore, the secondary induced voltage e2 has a relatively high level value. Output terminal S1 of secondary coil wire 2

Next, the operation of the above embodiment will be explained. When an AC power source of a predetermined frequency is applied to the input terminals P1 and P2' in FIG. 1, a current i1 flows through the primary coil wire 1 in the transformer body 3 as shown in FIGS. Therefore, the output terminals S1' and S2 of the secondary coil wire 2
By connecting an appropriate load to the secondary coil wire 2, a current i2 will flow through the secondary coil wire 2 in accordance with the size and nature of the load.

FIG. 4 shows an example of experimental results for practical use of the transformer body 3 shown in FIG. 1. In this experiment, the secondary side (
A pure resistance load of 10 [KΩ] is connected to the output terminals S1, S2), and the primary voltage v1 is connected to the input terminals P1, P2.
is applied, and the frequency f is changed from 1 [K] to 1 [M
] and change the transformation ratio to ``(V2 /V1)×1
00 [%]'' was measured. In this case, measurements were also made at the same time when the secondary was opened and no load was applied, and almost the same results as in FIG. 4 could be obtained. As a result, significant differences in frequency characteristics were obtained between types A, B, and C of the twisted coils shown in FIG. Furthermore, the results showed that types A, B, and C had almost the same frequency characteristics. At the same time, the transformation ratio constant K0 (however, K0 is the transformation ratio constant determined by the diameter of the coil wire and the power supply frequency; the same applies hereinafter) approaches zero in the low frequency region, but in the high frequency region, K0 = 70 to 80 [%] We were able to obtain results that seem to have sufficient potential for practical application.

As described above, in the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, when the diameter of the coil is small, the coupling between the primary and secondary is clearly enhanced, and at the same time, by setting the operating frequency high, It has become clear that this method can be fully put into practical use. Also, if the coil diameter is set large,
It was found that it is possible to operate from relatively low frequencies. Furthermore, in this first embodiment, since the entire cable is formed into a rope shape, it is possible to handle it in the same way as a normal power cable when using it, and moreover, the transformer inside the electronic device body can be omitted. Therefore, when this is used, there is an advantage that the main body of the electronic device can be significantly downsized.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, according to the present invention, the transformer body is formed by twisting the primary coil wire material and the secondary coil wire material into a rope shape (twisted shape) while maintaining mutual insulation. However, since the transformer body is configured such that input terminals are provided at both ends of the wire for the primary coil, and output terminals are provided at both ends of the wire for the secondary coil, the main part of the voltage conversion The transformer body consists of the wire for the primary coil and the wire for the secondary coil, which makes it possible to significantly reduce the size of the main body of the transformer. By creating a structure in which the strands are twisted together in a rope-like (twisted) manner while maintaining mutual insulation, it is possible to maintain good voltage conversion efficiency, and especially in the high-frequency range, the skin effect on the coil cross section due to high-frequency operation is reduced. The coupling between the primary coil and the secondary coil is enhanced by reducing the internal inductance, and as mentioned above, the overall rope-like shape makes it suitable for installation, for example, along the internal corners of electronic equipment. Therefore, when this is used, it is possible to provide an unprecedented and superior transformer device that can significantly downsize the entire electronic device.
