(Industrial Application Field) The present invention relates to a flame spray material used for repairing the lining of industrial furnaces. (Prior Art) The linings of industrial furnaces such as converters, vacuum degassing furnaces, ladles, and tundishes are repaired to extend the life of the furnace. The flame spraying method, which has been developed in recent years as one of the repair methods, sprays refractory powder while melting it with flame. Extremely strong strength. As a spraying material used in this flame spraying method, a magnesia spraying material (for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-6249) is used.
Alumina sprayed materials are known. (Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, magnesia has excellent corrosion resistance but poor spalling resistance, and alumina has excellent spalling resistance but poor corrosion resistance. These conventional materials have advantages and disadvantages, and have not been able to provide sufficient repair effects. An object of the present invention is to provide a flame spraying material that has both corrosion resistance and spalling resistance without the above-mentioned drawbacks. (Means for Solving the Problems) The present inventors first considered a combination of alumina and magnesia. However, the alumina-magnesia sprayed material thus obtained has no problem in spalling resistance, but is inferior in corrosion resistance due to the weakened structure of the sprayed material. This is thought to be due to the reaction between alumina and magnesia to produce spinel, and the volume expansion during spinel production. Therefore, as a result of further investigation, the present inventors found that
The present invention was completed based on the knowledge that a material combining light calcined alumina and spinel clinker in a specific ratio shows good results. That is, the first invention of the present invention is that light calcined alumina
This is a flame spraying material characterized by comprising 25 to 95 wt% and 5 to 75 wt% of MgO- Al2O3 - based spinel clinker. By the way, the meltability of the material of the first invention is improved by using lightly calcined alumina, so if the rate of injection of the spraying material into the flame is slow, it will melt excessively and the surface of the sprayed body will foam. This phenomenon causes the surface to become porous. The second invention, in addition to the effects of the first invention, suppresses the foaming phenomenon.
MgO-Al 2 O 3 -based spinel linker 5-75wt%,
It is a flame spraying material characterized by comprising 30wt% or less of magnesia clinker. The present invention will be explained in more detail below. Lightly calcined alumina (sometimes referred to as calcined alumina) used in the present invention contributes to the meltability of the thermal spray material, probably because it is porous and easily penetrated by flame heat flow. As is well known, the manufacturing method is to sinter aluminum hydroxide at about 1000 to 1500°C using the Bayer process. Calcined alumina, which is produced by adding an appropriate binder to this light-calcined alumina and firing it at around 2000℃, or fused alumina, which is produced by melting light-calcined alumina in an electric furnace, is different from the production method even though it is the same alumina. , clearly distinguished from differences in organization, etc. The use of MgO-Al 2 O 3 -based spinel clinker (hereinafter referred to as spinel clinker) not only has the corrosion resistance of a basic refractory material, but also does not expand when combined with the above-mentioned lightly calcined alumina, making it possible to create a dense and strong thermal sprayed body. tissue is obtained. This spinel clinker is an electrofused product or a sintered product fired at a temperature of about 1650°C or higher. In addition, the chemical component value is not particularly limited, but for example, Al 2 O 3 70 to 75 wt%,
MgO25~30%wt%. The total proportion of light-burnt alumina and spinel clinker is 100wt%, and if light-burnt alumina is less than 25wt% and spinel clinker exceeds 75wt%,
The meltability is poor, and the adhesion rate and density of the sprayed body structure are insufficient. It also has poor spalling resistance.
On the other hand, if the light calcined alumina content exceeds 95wt% and the spinel clinker content is less than 5wt%, the corrosion resistance will be poor. A more preferable range is 40 to 90 wt% of light calcined alumina and 10 to 60 wt% of spinel clinker. The magnesia clinker used in the second invention is
It has the role of preventing the foaming phenomenon seen in the thermal spray material structure. Any of natural magnesia clinker, seawater magnesia clinker, and electrofused magnesia clinker may be used. When the total amount of light calcined alumina, spinel clinker, and magnesia clinker is 100wt%,
The proportion of this magnesia clinker is 30wt% or less. Reacts with the Al 2 O 3 component of light calcined alumina
Possibly because MgO-Al 2 O 3 spinel is produced, if the amount added exceeds 30 wt%, bulges are seen in the structure of the thermally sprayed body. The most effective proportion is between 3 and 20 wt%. The particle size of the above-mentioned lightly calcined alumina, spinel clinker, and magnesia clinker is not particularly limited.
mm or less, with an average particle size of 50 to 500 μm. Moreover, the particle size does not matter whether it is spherical or non-spherical. In addition to the above-mentioned compositions, the present invention also includes compounds known as compositions for flame spraying materials, such as coke powder, various metal powders, and
Appropriate amounts of slag powder, refractory powder, etc. other than those specified as essential in the present invention may be added. As usual, propane is used for thermal spray repair.
Thermal spray material is introduced at a constant speed into a high-temperature flame generated from O 2 , acetylene-O 2 , kerosene-O 2 , etc. The thermal spray material becomes molten or semi-molten in the high-temperature flame and adheres to the surface to be repaired, repairing the refractory lining of the furnace. (Action/Effect) According to the present invention, a flame sprayed material having both corrosion resistance and spalling resistance can be obtained. As shown in the comparative examples described below, alumina has poor corrosion resistance, and magnesia has poor spalling resistance.
Furthermore, the alumina-magnesia material, which is a combination of these two materials, does not have sufficient structure and strength due to the expansion of the thermally sprayed material, and is ultimately inferior in corrosion resistance. On the other hand, in the examples of the present invention, no expansion of the sprayed material was observed, and the effects of corrosion resistance and spalling resistance were fully exhibited, and the repair effect of using this sprayed material was extremely large. . The reason why the present invention shows good results is considered to be due to the following reasons. For example, in the case of a combination of alumina and magnesia, spinel (MgO-Al 2 O 3 ) is generated under high temperatures during thermal spraying, which causes the thermal sprayed body to expand in volume and reduce its structural strength. With the combination of spinel clinkers from the beginning as in the invention, no spinel is generated during use, so there is no problem of volumetric expansion. On the other hand, in the second invention, the addition of magnesia clinker has the effect of preventing foaming of the thermal sprayed structure. This seems to be because magnesia clinker has a higher score than lightly calcined alumina and spinel clinker, and is present in the thermal spray material without being completely melted during thermal spraying, suppressing foaming. Therefore, flame spraying repair using the thermal spraying material of the present invention can significantly extend the life of the furnace, and have extremely large effects such as saving material costs, improving furnace operation rate, and reducing repair man-hours. be. (Example) Examples of the present invention and comparative examples thereof will be shown. Table 1 shows the chemical composition of the formulation used in each example, its particle size, and
The table shows the formulation composition and test results for each example.
