2. Description of the Related Art Some devices include a suction nozzle for mounting electronic components onto a member to be mounted, such as a printed circuit board. This mounting device generally includes a suction nozzle that suctions electronic components by vacuum, a holding member that is movably supported in the axial direction by the device body and holds the suction nozzle relatively movable in the axial direction, and a suction nozzle. The holding member is configured to include a spring that urges the distal end portion of the holding member to a protruding position where it protrudes longest from the holding member, and a moving device that moves the holding member in the axial direction. In this device, the holding member is moved toward the mounting target member, and the suction nozzle is moved toward the mounting target member, and the holding member is further reduced from the state where the electronic component is in contact with the mounting target member. The electronic component is mounted on the mounting target member by being brought close to the mounting target member. Movement of the holding member after the electronic component comes into contact with the mounting target member is allowed by the holding member compressing the spring and moving relative to the suction nozzle, and the holding member is moved in this way. As a result, the electronic component can be reliably mounted on the mounting target member even if there is variation in the distance between the electronic component and the mounting target member when the holding member starts moving.

[Operation] In the electronic component mounting apparatus according to the invention of claim 1, after the holding member and the suction nozzle start relative movement, the moving device mounts the holding member by the amount determined and commanded by the movement amount command means. The electronic component is brought close to the target member and pressed against the target member with a predetermined pressing force. After the holding member and the suction nozzle start relative movement, as the holding member is brought closer to the mounting target member, the amount of compression of the spring increases, and the pressing force that presses the electronic component against the mounting target member increases. . The degree of this increase varies depending on the spring constant of the spring, and the pressing force varies depending on the set load of the spring and the amount of movement of the holding member after the electronic component contacts the member to be mounted. Therefore, by detecting the start of the relative movement between the holding member and the suction nozzle, and determining the subsequent drive amount of the holding member based on the spring characteristics, the electronic component can be pressed against the mounting target member with an optimal pressing force. , it is possible to press the electronic component onto the mounting target member with an optimal pressing force, regardless of differences in the thickness of the electronic component or errors in the height position of the suction nozzle. In the electronic component mounting apparatus according to the invention of claim 2, a plurality of suction nozzles are selectively used for mounting electronic components, and for each suction nozzle used, actual measurement data of the spring characteristics of the spring and the suction nozzle are The drive amount of the holding member after the relative movement starts is determined based on the data of the optimum pressing force of the electronic component to be attached to the member to be mounted. Spring characteristics naturally vary depending on the specifications of the spring, and even springs with the same specifications vary and are not necessarily constant. However, the data on spring characteristics is based on each spring of multiple suction nozzles. This is data obtained through actual measurements, and no matter which suction nozzle is selected, the electronic component can be pressed against the mounting target member with an appropriate pressing force.

The hollow rod 18 has, as shown in FIG.
A pipe 100 is fitted onto the inner circumferential surface of the pipe 100 so as to be relatively movable in the axial direction. Due to its own weight, the pipe 100 is in contact with the upper surface of the sleeve 70 of the suction nozzle 40 held by the holding member 41, as shown in FIG. pipe 10
0 is made to protrude from the hollow rod 18, and a dog 102 is fixed thereto. Also, hollow rod 1
A cylindrical frame 106 is attached to the upper end of the frame 8 so as to be relatively rotatable but immovable in the axial direction. A nipple 108 is attached to the upper part of the frame 106 and is connected to a vacuum source (not shown) so that vacuum is supplied to the suction nozzle 40. Furthermore, an elongated hole 110 extending in the axial direction is formed in the upper part of the frame 106, and a photoelectric switch 112 is disposed therein. The photoelectric switch 112 is supported by the frame 106 via a position adjustment device (not shown), and is provided at a position upwardly removed from the dog 102 when the electronic component 94 is not attached. This photoelectric switch 112 is a reflective type, and has a light emitter and a light receiver, and when the light emitted by the light emitter is reflected and received, it emits an ON signal, and when the light is not reflected and is not received, it emits an OFF signal. emanate. Therefore, when the suction nozzle 40 protrudes the longest from the holding member 41, there is nothing to reflect the light emitted by the photoelectric switch 112, and the light is not received, so an OFF signal is issued. For example, light is reflected by the dog 102 and an ON signal is generated, whereby the start of relative movement between the suction nozzle 40 and the holding member 41 is detected. In this embodiment, the pipe 100, the dog 102, and the photoelectric switch 112 constitute a detection means for detecting the start of relative movement between the holding member 41 and the suction nozzle 40.

The amount by which the holding member 41 is lowered is calculated based on the spring characteristics of the spring 76 stored in the RAM 126 and the optimum pressing force of the electronic component 94 that is currently mounted. The force that presses the electronic component 94 against the printed circuit board 96 is due to the set load F0 of the spring 76 and the suction nozzle 4.
The increase in force F1 from the start of relative movement with respect to the holding member 41 until it is detected, and the increase F2 in force from the time the relative movement is detected until the holding member 41 is stopped. It is Japanese. The increase F1 is the spring constant of the spring 76 and the fall L1 (can be regarded as a constant value)
The increment F2 is the value obtained by multiplying the spring constant by the required fall amount Lx, and the set load and spring constant of the spring 76 of the suction nozzle 40 used for suction are read out from the RAM 126. , the optimum pressing force of the electronic component 94 to the printed circuit board 96 is ROM
124, and the lowering amount Lx is calculated so that the sum of F0, F1, and F2 becomes the optimal pressing force. Further, the rotation angle of the servo motor 26 with respect to this lowering amount Lx is calculated. Then, the nozzle lifting motor 26 is driven until the rotation angle of the servo motor 26 detected by the encoder 30 reaches the calculated value, and the holding member 41 is lowered by the calculated amount. , the printed circuit board 96 can always be pressed with the optimum pressing force without being affected by differences in the thickness of the electronic components 94, errors in the height position of the suction nozzle 40, differences in the specifications of the spring 76, and variations in spring characteristics. It happens.
