(Prior Art) Generally, when manufacturing a cavity in a casting, a sand mold called a core is set in the main mold in order to prevent molten metal from entering the part corresponding to the cavity during casting. It is being done. For example, when manufacturing a casting with a complex shape such as an engine block, the hollow part, etc. must have a complex shape, so a unit made by combining multiple cores is used. Sometimes,
When assembling such unitized cores into the main mold, a plurality of cores supplied by a core feeder are transferred to a core assembly jig using a core carrier, and the cores are assembled into a core. It has already been proposed that a core unit assembled in a tooling jig is assembled to a main mold using a core setter (see Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 146450/1983).

(Problem to be solved by the invention) As in the above-mentioned known example, when combining multiple cores in a core assembly jig, if each core is not positioned accurately, the core setter will not be able to hold the core unit. When assembling the core into the main mold, there is a risk that the core will deviate from the predetermined assembly position. In particular, in the case of a core unit made up of multiple cores, variations in dimensions may occur depending on how they are assembled, so it is necessary to assemble the core unit to the main mold before assembling it with a core setter. It is necessary to accurately position the core unit in the attached position and to assemble it into the main mold without changing the position of the core unit in the positioned state. If the core is not assembled accurately to the main mold, it may lead to a decrease in the dimensional accuracy of the casting or to the occurrence of defects such as sand clumps, so there is currently a desire to improve the accuracy of core assembly.
