と相対移動することによつてその移動距離を検出
するための検出ヘツドと、その検出ヘツドからの
信号に基づき、メインスケールと検出ヘツドの相
対移動の量を演算表示する演算表示手段が設けら
れ、 更に、上記ハウジングの開口に挿通して配設さ
れ、一端が検出ヘツドと連結され且つ他端が被測
定物に連結される連結部材と、可撓性材料から形
成され、先端部が互いに突合わせ状態で配設され
てハウジングの開口を閉塞する防塵・防液用の第
一のシール部材と、可撓性材料から形成され、前
記第一のシール部材に略平行であつて且つ先端部
が互いに突合わせ状態で配設されてハウジングの
開口を閉塞する防塵・防液用の第二のシール部材
が備えられ、 加えて、連結部材の、第一のシール部材を掻分
ける第一の掻分け部と、連結部材の、第二のシー
ル部材を掻分ける第二の掻分け部が、検出ヘツド
の移動方向において異なる位置に配置されてなる
