[Background Art of the Invention] A conventional phototypesetting machine having a display means for a monitor captures an image of typed characters, symbols, etc. (hereinafter simply referred to as characters) with an imaging unit, and stores the printed characters in a storage unit. It was written to the refresh memory along with character data and displayed on the display for confirmation. Once confirmed, the characters are printed on the photosensitive material, and the character data, printing position, etc. of the printed characters are stored in the storage section.

[Problems with the background technology] However, the above-mentioned position-stay-eye result cannot be confirmed until it is actually printed and displayed, resulting in mistakes in character input during blank printing, mistakes in setting the specified line length, and unexpected position-stay-eye results. If the printer becomes erroneous, settings must be made again and printing must be performed again, consuming wasted photosensitive material and time, resulting in a reduction in work efficiency. Furthermore, since substantial changes and conversion operations are involved in optical members, such as changes in lens magnification, deformation rate and deformation shape of the deformed lens, operation time during blank printing is required, and an improvement has been awaited.

[Summary of the Invention] The present invention displays characters, symbols, etc. selected from a dial on a display unit via an imaging unit, and
In a phototypesetting machine that prints on an output material, there is an input section for inputting instructions for the shift eye, and a state in which the character data of characters and symbols that are imaged at a certain magnification and blankly printed can be read out character by character. a buffer memory that stores information in the buffer memory, a calculation section that calculates the buffer memory information such as the space allocation amount, magnification, deformation rate, feed amount, etc. during main printing according to the buffer memory command, and a calculation section that calculates the buffer memory information such as space allocation amount, magnification, deformation rate, feed amount, etc. at the time of main printing, and when blank printing, the buffer memory A sizing control section that converts character data to a specified magnification and, during actual printing, converts the character data in the buffer memory character by character according to the shift eye information, and character data during blank printing or the shift eye result from the sizing control section. an image memory that stores the shift result of the empty print memory according to a separate instruction and stores character data printed from the image pickup section during actual printing; It is equipped with a refresh memory for monitor display that stores character data from the unit, and a display unit that displays the contents of the refresh memory. The first step is to display a simulation to check the printing before printing.
A second feature is that the optical member is not driven during the blank printing, and characters at a desired magnification are displayed by electronic sizing, and the contents of the image memory are output to the printer. A third feature of the present invention is to provide a phototypesetting machine.

The input section 24 is used to specify the line length for which the adjustment is to be performed. Then, the zoom lens 5 is set in advance to a constant magnification, or characters are drawn from the dial 4 at the currently used magnification and blank printing is performed. The blank printed characters are stored in the buffer memory 28 via the digitizing memory 23 in a state where the character data can be read out character by character.
In the case of a number of JST, the character data is stored as it is in the blank print memory 32, and in the case of a JST of a different Q number, the character data is converted to a separately specified Q number via the sizing control section 31. and stores it in the blank print memory 32.
The contents of the blank print memory 32 are sequentially sent to the refresh memory 30 and sent via the P/S conversion circuit 33.

On the other hand, the control unit 25 controls the display control unit 27,
The character data stored in the buffer memory 28 is sequentially transferred character by character to the sizing control unit 31. The sizing control unit 31 then calculates the size based on the size information calculated by the calculation unit 20.
By sequentially converting the input character data, it is possible to obtain the above-mentioned JST results () to (). The status result is stored in the blank print memory 32 after erasing the blank print character data, and is stored in the refresh memory 30,
The image is displayed on the CRT 34 via the P/S conversion circuit 33. Thereby, the operator can check the stay-at-eye result before actual printing without driving optical members such as the zoom lens 5 and the deformable lens 6, and if the stay-at-eye result is correct, then actual printing is performed.

Note that by transferring the character data in the image memory 29 to the printer buffer memory 35,
Printing can continue even when the printer is in operation, and by sequentially transferring the image memory 29 to the printer buffer memory 35, it is also possible to output continuous printed matter on roll paper.

In this way, although the quality of printer output is slightly inferior to that of the phototypesetting machine, the printing results can be output immediately, and the effect can be great when applied to, for example, captions and flyers. It is.

Furthermore, it is clear that by using a high-resolution printer such as a laser beam printer, it is possible to obtain high-quality prints that are close to the phototypesetting prints.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, the present invention is capable of displaying and confirming the result of the shift error before actual printing, thereby preventing printing errors and improving work efficiency since it is possible to confirm the printing style. Furthermore, it is very economical because it can be switched between photosensitive material output and printer output depending on the application. Furthermore, since characters are recorded without driving the optical member during blank printing, the printing operation time can be shortened.

[Scope of Claims] 1. In a phototypesetting machine that displays characters, symbols, etc. selected from a dial on a display unit via an imaging unit and prints them on an output member, an input unit for inputting the data, a buffer memory for storing the character data of characters/symbols imaged at a constant magnification and blank-printed in a readable state for each character, and the amount of space allocated during actual printing, the magnification, A calculation unit that calculates gear stay information such as deformation rate and feed amount, and during blank printing, converts the character data in the buffer memory to the specified magnification based on a separately input magnification designation, and during actual printing, converts the character data in the buffer memory into the specified magnification. A sizing control section that performs conversion for each character according to the sizing control section; A blank print memory that stores character data during blank printing or the sizing result from the sizing control section; and a sizing control section that stores the sizing result of the blank print memory according to a separate instruction. During actual printing, the image memory stores the character data printed from the imaging section; the refresh memory for monitor display stores the character data in the image memory and the character data from the imaging section; and the refresh memory. A phototypesetting device comprising: a display section that displays the contents of the memory; and a display section that displays the contents of the memory, and is capable of confirming various status statuses by displaying simulations before actual printing, based on the character data recorded in blank printing. Machine. 2. The phototypesetting machine according to claim 1, wherein during the blank printing, the optical member is not driven and characters at a desired magnification are displayed by electronic sizing. 3. The phototypesetting machine according to claim 1, wherein the phototypesetting machine outputs the contents of the image memory to a printer.
