は、例えばアクリル繊維、セルロース繊維、ポリ
ビニルアルコール繊維などを吸水変性処理したも
の、マレイン酸などの二塩基酸共重体を繊維状に
したもの、あるいは、ポリアクリル酸ソーダなど
の親水性重合体をコーテイングしたものなどを使
用することができる。特に、ヒドロゲル外層とア
クリロニトリル系重合体よりなる内層とで形成さ
れたランシール(日本エクスラン工業株式会社の
登録商標)に代表されるカルボキシル基を0.5〜
4.0mmol/g含有する繊維状高分子吸収体は優れ
た吸水能と共に強伸度などの物性も優れており、
保水状態下においても芯があるため保水形態の安
定保持ができるのみならず、例えば、カルボキシ
ル基の中和度を80%以下にしておけば残存する酸
型カルボキシル基(−COOH)がアンモニア、
アミン等を選択的に吸着させることができるので
極めて好適である。また、脱酸素剤3としてはフ
エロアロイ、フエロシリコン、フエロマンガン、
シリコンマンガン、あるいはアルミニウムなどを
使用することができ、活性炭4としては粉末活性
炭や造粒活性炭など公知の活性炭を使用すること
ができる。その他、5はジヤーで、該ジヤー5は
本体6、該本体6に嵌合自在とされた内鍋7、本
体6の上端周縁にヒンジを介して取付けられた外
