Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent flashing in an evaporator and preclude the generation of refrigerant mist by a method wherein refrigerant, condensed in a condenser, is precooled before entering the evaporator to reduce the temperature of the condensed refrigerant to the same level as a refrigerant temperature in the evaporator. CONSTITUTION:Refrigerant is absorbed by an absorber 1 and solution, whose concentration is reduced, is supplied to a low-temperature re-producer 3 and a high-temperature re-producer 5 by a solution pump 8 through a heat exchanger 6. When the solution is condensed in both re-producers, high-temperature refrigerant vapor is generated. The refrigerant vapor is sent into a condenser 4 to cool it and obtain condensed refrigerant, however, the temperature of the condensed refrigerant is higher than the inside temperature of the evaporator 2. In order to reduce the temperature, the refrigerant in a refrigerant tank 7 is circulated to a precool device 10 by a refrigerant pump 9. The temperature of the condensed refrigerant, discharged out of the precool device 10, becomes the same level ax the inside temperature of the evaporator 2 and, accordingly, flashing will never be caused when the condensed refrigerant enters the evaporator 2.

Furthermore, even if the temperature is not lowered to exactly the same temperature as the refrigerant temperature in the evaporator, it is fully expected that the degree of flashing in the evaporator can be avoided by pre-cooling the condensed refrigerant.

A water-lithium bromide absorption refrigerator condenses high-temperature refrigerant vapor in the condenser and returns it to the evaporator. Since the temperature of this condensed refrigerant is higher than the temperature inside the evaporator, it flashes inside the evaporator and becomes refrigerant mist.

By lowering the temperature of this condensed refrigerant to the level of the temperature inside the evaporator, flashing within the evaporator is eliminated, so that no refrigerant mist is generated due to this.

The solution, which has become low in concentration by absorbing the refrigerant in the absorber 1, is supplied to the low-temperature regenerator 3 and the high-temperature regenerator 5 via the heat exchanger 6 by the solution pump 8.The solution is concentrated in the two regenerators. During this process, high temperature refrigerant vapor is generated. This refrigerant vapor is sent to the condenser 4, where it is cooled and becomes a condensed refrigerant, but this temperature is higher than the internal temperature of the evaporator 2, so this temperature is lowered.

A portion of the refrigerant in the refrigerant tank 7 is circulated to the precool device 10 by the refrigerant pump 9. The temperature of the condensed refrigerant passing through the pre-cooling device 10 is at the same level as the internal temperature of the evaporator 2, and therefore, there is no flushing when entering the evaporator 2.
