Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop printing at the lower end of paper at the time of the exhaustion of paper, to prevent blind printing and to instantaneously stop printing at the time of paper jamming by confirming a paper feed state using the sensors provided at four places in total, that is, the left and right places of a printing head and the left and right places above paper and counting the present number of line feeds. CONSTITUTION:During the printing of data, sensor parts 41 - 44 monitor the presense of paper and also detect the difference between the sizes of sprocket holes 2, 3. A paper feed state confirming part 7 confirming the advance state of continuous paper 1 on the basis of the difference between the sizes of the holes synthesizes the informations from four sensors of the sensor parts 41 - 44 and checks whether the paper advance states at the positions of all of the sensors coincide with each other. If the advance states are different, the generation of paper jamming is informed to a printing control part 6. When the advance states coincide with each other, this state is collated with the line feed information from a paper feed mechanism 8 and it is checked whether the continuous paper 1 is normally fed and, when paper feed is judged to be abnormal, the generation of paper jamming is informed to the printing control part 6.

In the conventional printer device described above, the paper outage detection sensor and the print head are located in separate rows, and the progress of the paper cannot be detected. , the paper runs out 2. In order to print up to the bottom edge of the paper, paper out detection must be ignored, and if the amount of data is greater than the paper length, blank printing is performed on the platen, and the host device prints normally. 3. Even if a paper jam occurs, printing continues regardless, and the host device recognizes that the printing was successful.

The printer device of the present invention includes a sensor unit that detects sprocket holes with different inner diameters, a paper feeding status recognition unit that recognizes and manages paper feeding status based on information from the sensor unit, and a line counter that counts the current number of line feeds. It consists of a data printing section that prints data, a paper feed mechanism section that feeds paper, and a print control section that controls each of the above sections, and detects the difference in the size of sprocket holes provided at both ends of continuous paper. It is configured by recognizing the paper feeding status and counting the number of line breaks in the paper.

When the print data is input to the print control unit 6, the print control unit 6 notifies the paper feed mechanism 8 to feed the paper by the required number of lines. The paper feed mechanism 8 notifies the line counter 8 every time a new line occurs, and the line counter 9 stores the current number of lines.

- The print control unit 6 confirms that the paper exists directly below the print head 10 based on the information notified from the paper supply status recognition unit 7 from the print head 44, and notifies the data printing unit 5 of the print data. Print data is printed on continuous paper 1 by a printing pad 10.

In this way, while the continuous paper 1 is moving upward one after another in the figure and printing data, a paper-out notification is sent from one of the sensor units 43 and 44 (or both) to the paper feed status recognition unit 7. When the data is passed to the print control section 6, the print control section 6 immediately instructs the data printing section 5 and paper feed mechanism 8 to stop printing, and the printing is interrupted. After that, when a new continuous paper 1 is set, the print control unit 6 confirms the paper presence notification from the sensor units 43 and 44, and then reads out the number of line feeds when the paper runs out, which is stored in the line counter 9. , and notifies the paper feed mechanism 8 of the number of line feeds. The paper feed mechanism 8 feeds the continuous paper 1 by the notified number of lines. Next, after confirming the paper presence notification from the sensor units 43 and 44, the print control unit 6 notifies the data printing unit 5 and the paper feed mechanism 8 to resume printing of the remaining data, and the data is printed.

During data printing, the sensor sections 41 to 44 monitor the presence or absence of paper, and also detect differences in the sizes of the sprocket holes 2Φ3. The paper feed status recognition unit 7 recognizes the progress of the continuous paper 1 based on the difference in hole size, and integrates the notifications from the four sensors 41 to 44 to determine the progress of the paper at all sensor positions. Check whether the conditions match.

If the progress is different, this is reported to the print control N8 as a paper jam. If the progress is -i, then check whether the continuous paper 1 is being fed correctly by comparing it with the line feed notification from the paper feed mechanism 8, and if it is determined that the paper feed is not normal, , the print control unit 6 is notified of this as a paper jam.

Upon receiving the paper jam notification, the print control unit 6 notifies the data printing unit 5 and the paper feed mechanism 8 to stop printing in the same manner as when the paper runs out, and performs subsequent processing in the same manner as when the paper runs out.

As explained above, the present invention uses sensors installed at a total of 4aI positions on the left and right sides of the print head and the left and right sides above the paper to recognize the paper feeding state and count it with the current number of line feeds. 1. When the paper runs out, printing stops at the bottom edge of the paper to prevent blank printing. 2. In the event of a paper jam, printing stops immediately. 3. After resetting the paper, line feed returns to the line that was being printed before the paper was replaced. Since printing is resumed after the end of the page break code, the beginning of the next page can be matched with the beginning of the data even for data that is not page managed using a page break code.
